Legendary comedian Dave Chappelle inspired more outrage when he joined a group of local residents to kill a proposal for low income housing in rural Ohio as a part of a large residential development.
Chappelle grew up in Yellow Springs, Ohio, a small rural village of 3,700 people about 20 miles from Dayton. He bought 39 acres of farmland there and moved back in 2005.
On Monday, he attended a village council meeting where he threatened to pull his plans to develop a restaurant called “Firehouse Eatery” and comedy club called “Live from YS" in the town.
"I cannot believe you would make me audition for you! You look like clowns!" he told the council.

Some Catholics don’t know how left most Catholic campuses are now. Liberalism, political correctness, Wokeism … this is THE FAITH being taught. Graduated from a Catholic college in Kentucky in 89. And it was a 50-50 situation even in conservative Kentucky at that point. Now it’s like 80-20. Election Day 88, more visible signs of support for Pro-Abortion liberal Dukakis than Pro-Life Bush on my campus. Remember a priest once mocking Reagan in class.
Always thought Murphy was better at skits and movies. Hit and miss standup, a little too filthy for me. Always kind of thought Jerry Seinfeld was overrated. But they started putting on his show in the lunchroom every night at work. Okay, pretty funny, “soup Nazi”, hilarious.
Could listen to Dangerfield’s wife jokes and other one liners for an hour or two at a time. His insults of Ted Knight in “Caddyshack”, wow. Thought Henny Youngman was as good or even better at one liners. Never much got Carlin’s I’m gonna offend you stuff, his atheistic stuff kinda annoyed me.
Can Pryor and Chevy Chase’s brilliant SNL sketch in which Chase calls him the “N” word even be shown anymore? Chapelle’s sketch with a white family whose last night was “N*gg***”. Hilarious. Red Foxx’s trading of insults with his female relative on “Sanford and Son”, hilarious.
Chapelle stands out these days because he’s so much better than the unfunny, bitter ideologues like Colbert and Kimmel. SNL is now horrible considering some of its former greats. A comedy goldmine sitting there with bumbling Biden and nonsense like gender theory. Used to mock these things, Clinton as a lusthound, “Pat”, a person whose gender you couldn’t tell, “Ambiguously Gay Duo” cartoon … Won’t touch these things now.
Sicko radical feminist “comediennes” like Sarah Silverman saying she would kill Christ again, “joking” about abortion. Unfunny. Sad. Sick. Mentally ill?
Bill Maher has been better lately because at least he leaves liberalism at Wokeism, the total loss of common sense, COVID insanity.
The majority of Catholic universities and colleges are now fulfilling this Scripture: “they make a pretense of religion while denying its real power” -2 Tm 3:5
They try to stay “Catholic” enough to keep the money flowing in from big donors, alumni/alumnae.
The community needs damaged.
It’s full of communist hippies.
I don’t even drive through that deal hole.
They need to taste the section 8 they support.
It’s not a decent place to live.
Infested with communist hippies.
The lunatic Antioch College used to be in Yellow Springs, before it went bankrupt in 2005.
I suppose there might still be some alumni in the area who are boosting this project as a last gasp to show off their social responsibility bonafides.
The complex Chappell is planning is really needed and it’s nice.
It is high time we accept that many people looking for “low-income housing” aren’t looking for work; that is why the Hudson River valley has many areas with non-working gibsmedats. The new pseudo-economies are idle people spending public assistance dollars.
“Poor people need to live somewhere, and safe affordable housing, particularly in urban areas, is something that needs to be addressed.”
The problem at its root is that the costs they bring with them chase out the tax base - so the place falls apart. Concentrating “takers” has been disastrous for areas, as it prevents any revitalization/rebound.
Frankly I prefer the comics of DryBar
I remember one such area on Detroit's east side that started out as affordable housing for white Europeans immigrating to Detroit prior to and during WW-II and getting jobs in the auto industry.
Over the years, they eventually migrated to better homes in the city and outside and that area became low income housing or "projects" and eventually fell into such disrepair that they were all torn down.
I haven't been thru that area in a number of years but I believe they were rebuilding again for the same purpose. And the cycle will repeat itself.....
Smart comment. Yellow Springs is the Austin, TX of Ohio. The leftist nutjobs at Oberlin have nothing on the Commies in Yellow Springs.
On a side note, I am totally fine with what Dave Chappelle did.
Make no mistake, he is still a dirtbag liberal. I've seen a lot of his comedy routines on boobtoob and he is as offensive as ever.
Even a broken clock is right twice a day.
By the picture, it looked like a “$600K” house would be a Duplex of two 3 bedroom houses.
It looked to me like zero lot line rentals chock full of single moms and Childrens playing Ball on the driveway.
Sounds like the Twitter mob is really a bunch of RACISTS for attacking him. After all, what landowner actually wants low-income housing next door? And, although unreported here, there are also white ranchers complaining - but why isn’t the Twitter mob also attacking them? Can only be one answer - RACISM.
If you didn’t think his piece on “Juicy Smooleeyay” wasn’t funny, then you can’t be helped. That was hilarious.

While he didn’t give the reasons for his opposition to the project, a friend of his told The Daily Mail that the comedian opposed the project because the housing would not really serve those with low incomes.
He used threat of pulling his projects out instead of stating his reason at the meeting.
