A daughter's wedding - and all that goes with it — should be about pure joy and celebration. Nothing less.
Yet one New Jersey mother — because of New York City's COVID vaccine mandates that began last summer — found herself enduring a medical emergency she never imagined.
Kathleen Zemlachenko, 63, of Raritan Township, N.J., had chosen not to take the COVID-19 vaccine after consulting with her doctor. Fit and active, Zemlachenko had already tested positive for COVID in January 2021. She had very high antibody levels to prove it.
"I had 3,000 times the antibodies that would have shown somebody as having a positive antibody response," she told Fox News Digital in a recent phone interview.
Zemlachenko did not feel comfortable getting vaccinated until she had more information about the potential side effects for those who had antibodies to the virus.
But last year, "after New York City Mayor [Bill] DeBlasio’s vaccine mandates came out, I really had no choice," Zemlachenko told Fox News Digital.
In mid-August 2021, DeBlasio announced his "Key to NYC" vaccine mandate, which required proof of vaccine for patrons who wanted to visit certain Big Apple establishments.
Unless Zemlachenko took the vaccine, it seemed highly probable that she would not be allowed to join her daughter, Emily — the youngest of her five children (she has three daughters and two sons) — for a wedding-dress fitting experience for mother and daughter at a Manhattan shop ahead of Emily's November 2021 wedding.
Zemlachenko felt coerced into a difficult decision. The path she chose wound up putting her life in jeopardy.

Well, the tide might be turning a little bit. The MSM would have never written an article about any side effects from the vaccine a few months ago. All the prior stories only came from alternative news sources.
They will likely claim she got the vaccination on her own free will.

So don’t shop in Manhattan. Little known factoid, wedding dresses are also found inn free states. Play with a turd, get crap on your fingers. That’s what I say...
It’s also amazing how many Eloi still trust what the media and ‘government officials’ have to say, even now.
Small church weddings are the way to go. Keep it simple, no big hoopla. Focus on the gravity and spiritual event that is happening. Elope to a small-town church if need be...
I have come to believe people would do better to spend more time worrying about the marriage and not so much the wedding party.
I guess this one would be safe in FR’s ER doctor’s ER, eh! Because she got the jab.
Homemade vax card. The dress shop wouldn’t know.
I stopped reading after learning the jab was on ONE day before wedding. It takes 7-14 days after the jabs to have any chance of creating anti-bodies.
Yeah, like using home made dollar bills. The dress shop will not know. It works great until you get caught.
What a stupid comparison.
RE: Homemade vax card.
That’s a felony in NY. Several people have been caught with this and heavily fined.
from the article: On August 5, 2021, Zemlachenko received the Johnson & Johnson vaccine, which would give her enough cushion ahead of the mother-daughter dress fitting to be considered "fully vaccinated."
Maybe you should stop commenting when it's clear that you're COMPLETELY full of Mitt, entropy...
@ HartleyMBaldwin, rcdbn1 & SeekAndFind - this is who is arguing with you...
Risk a fine, or risk a life-threatening medical situation. Up to the individual.
She already had lots of antibodies before getting the shot. The shot was medically unnecessary.
She got the shot in August. Wedding was in November. It’s very clear you didn’t read the article.
That was my thinking as well, the daughter a bit selfish.
But ...that is how most brides are these days. It is their day, their experience and none should dare to infringe on that happiness. Except this time, she almost lost her mother to side-effects from the injection.
Flip that around and if the daughter had driven to another bridal shop and had a car accident...it would be the selfish mother?
With all the virtual accessibility post pandemic, they could have done the “fitting” via Zoom.
This daughter is the scum of the earth, a wretched human being. And a brainwashed idiot.
Could they not have moved the ‘fitting’ to a private
location.?
RE: Risk a fine, or risk a life-threatening medical situation.
The counter arguments I always read are:
1) It is uncertain that the vaccine caused her health problem ( same is true of the collapsing athletes observed worldwide ).
2) Even if it did, her condition is RARE. Which means that the risk/benefit still favors being vaccinated.
Don’t flame me, I’m just presenting what I’ve always read. Deal with the argument itself.
The risk-benefit calculation is up to the individual, as I said. My own choice so far is neither.
