Magnet fishing, huh?
Hmm, all those guns lost in tragic boating accidents gives me an idea. 😏

How big is the database of crimes involving .50 rifles?

Couple of Barrett .50’s, what’s not to like? Does Florida allow them without hassle?

I’d love to have a Barrett, could probably swing it financially, but then probably couldnt afford to shoot it enough to make it worthwhile... :(

The Grandson is going to crow about that discovery for years. With each telling of the story, the number and size of the guns will increase.

Two Barretts. Big time score, if they’re functional.
Ammo isn’t cheap, though.

I’ve caught fishing poles a few times fishing for bass with a Carolina rig. Be interesting dragging a magnet around a marina where people are loading and unloading.

I get a kick out of those magnet fishing videos. I watched one where two guys found a big Harley that had been pushed off a country bridge into the river below.
Cops came out with a tow truck operator and they hauled it out.
They thought it belonged to a guy who was currently in prison and his ex-wife probably got rid of it there.

"...they didn’t find any ammunition." Need to use a brass and lead type magnet.

Why did they tell anybody? Lol.
Some years ago a friend of mine who was working at HillAFB was going through some old reconnaissance gear that had been in storage since the Vietnam War. He opened a light table and found an M60 machine gun. Probably wouldn’t have been smart to keep it.

My bet is a felon or other person knew it was illegal to possess them and were afraid they were going be stopped by the coast guard or a state equivalent. Thus, he had them prepared to toss overboard if necessary.
