Free-agent NFL head coaching candidate Brian Flores is suing the league and three teams, the Miami Dolphins, the New York Giants and Denver Broncos, over hiring practices.
According to the complaint, Flores is alleging race discrimination when it comes to coaching personnel decisions in the NFL. Among many complaints, the lawsuit chides the NFL’s “Rooney Rule,” which requires NFL teams to conduct at least one in-person interview with a minority candidate for all head coaching vacancies.
“However, well intentioned or not, what is clear is that the Rooney Rule is not working,” the complaint reads.
Currently there is only one black coach in the NFL, Pittsburgh Steelers coach Mike Tomlin. There are 32 teams in the league.

ZACTLY!
I’ve heard of a Touchdown Jesus, probably Manuel’s amigo, but never heard of O Line Chin.
Jacksonville didn’t hire Byron Leftwich?
So he thinks b/c teams have to interview a black guy that more teams should have black coaches?
that’s blatantly faulty logic.
Not according to any of the info I can find. He kept being bandied about as “lead candidate” but currently they’re still looking.
I agree. In fact, they could reinstitute “separate but equal” in the NFL, and form a “Black” division, with Black players, coaches, owners, etc. Oh wait, the courts already said something about ‘segregation’.
when I heard this I thought it should be the easiest to disprove, unless there is evidence to support.
Just calling it how I see it, I agree with this. They have the Rooney rule where each team brings in a token interviewee then end up hiring the same crop of ‘whiter than I am’ coaches. Can’t understand why Eric Bieneme has not been hired.
Eric has some off the field baggage in his past that may be waving off owners.
I have no insight, but I'd theorize it has nothing to do with his being black.
The Dolphins deserved to be sue in oblivion. keeping the worse GM in the league over Flores. Brian had the start of a good team and was saddled with Tua (worse high draft pick ever) and a defensive high pick missing half his hand.
The Dolphins would have been in the playoffs the last two years if the GM didn’t make such stupid picks and trades.
Brian is saying that he has proof that he was interviewed for HC positions in order to show “compliance” with the PC Rooney Rule requiring teams interview minority candidates for HC positions while the teams interviewing him were never seriously considering him. They were merely using him to keep the PC NFL Commissioner’s office out of their hair.
If we’re lucky, maybe Jay-Z, Mary J. Blige, Snoop and the rest will boycott the BIG Game half time show in support.
“This dope is filing a lawsuit against PROSPECTIVE employers after he’s just been fired from a job that he never would have held in the first place if his allegations of racial discrimination had any merit.”
Kappernick did just that, won a settlement, and a year later the league was willing to give him a tryout to play again.
The best players play, regardless of color or background. Why should coaches be hired any differently?
The problem with affirmative action is the mentally pigmented feel they should get jobs on the color of their skin, not on their ability to win games! Sorry Brian, you suck as a coach. If you can’t win, you can’t coach. There are a bunch of white coaches that got the same pink slip. They don’t whine. Most go to collage, high school or grade school coaching. Or maybe, just maybe you are a locker room cancer and have a bad rap. Eitherway grow up and stop being a pnssy!
That is right in line with the (approximate) adult black male population of the country. Fully fair!
Well let him PROVE that in court.
Thanks stu
