We’ve begged you, Taco Bell, to bring back the Mexican Pizza. We’ve put our heart and soul on the line sharing our love for the item that was once a staple on your menu. We’ve even tried replicating its glory at home. But still, we can’t help but hope, wish, and pray that the Mexican Pizza is coming back, keeping a close eye on every little hint you drop that maybe, just maybe, its return is imminent. Well, Taco Bell, we now have a new warrior in this fight, one who will make you sit up and take notice: Dolly Parton.
In an interview with Insider, the country music superstar and living embodiment of the word “icon” sang the praises of fast food, specifically Taco Bell where she likes to order soft-shell supreme tacos, rice and beans with mild sauce, and, once upon a time, Mexican Pizzas. When asked if she thought Taco Bell should bring the latter back, she immediately replied, “I think they should!” You hear that, Taco Bell?!

There was a brief period of about a year out of USNA on an Ensigns pay, when I was paying off a car loan. After all other living expenses, I was eating on a budget of about $12 a day. Taco Bell was a regular staple, and I actually found it enjoyable. That was some 40 years ago at age 22 and the kids behind the counter were still clean cut and English literate, regardless of color. I wasnt fearful of food poisoning.
For many years now, however, Taco Bell is staffed with, lets just say, questionable employees and I have had more than one instant of food poisoning from there. I avoid it now. Its a cheap way to get a sick stomach.

I can’t remember the name of them, but Taco Bell used to make a soft taco with bacon years ago. It wasn’t a breakfast item, didn’t have eggs. They were really good, and then they stopped serving them. I never cared much for Mexican food, and those were basically the only Taco Bell item I enjoyed. Haven’t been there is many years.

I am in the middle of Tex-Mex food country and still like Taco Bell, problem is wife hates the service at the local one so we mostly do our own Tex-Mex about once a week. Having home made tamales (from scratch all the way) with HEB ranchero beans tonight.
