Where are you buying those tortillas at Whole Foods?
I am in the middle of Tex-Mex food country and still like Taco Bell, problem is wife hates the service at the local one so we mostly do our own Tex-Mex about once a week. Having home made tamales (from scratch all the way) with HEB ranchero beans tonight.
Safeway in Phoenix. $3.99 for about 20 tortillas.
The trick is to toast the tortillas on the grill or in a skillet and you can make even cheap brands delicious. Avoid the major brands as they are usually tasteless and powdery.
