Tom Brady hasn’t informed the Bucs that he’s retiring. Bruce Arians told me, “He hasn’t. Not even close to making up his mind yet. He told us.”

Tom Brady is retiring from football after 22 extraordinary seasons, multiple sources tell @JeffDarlington and me.

Just hit the wires in the past 10 minutes.
Haha, Brady as a color commentator? Mr. Personality himself? He would be a perfect fit with Cris Collinsworth and Troy Aikman. Put all three on one game each week so week can miss hearing them all at once.
In Hernandez’ case I don’t think anybody saw that coming.....or wanted to anyway.
What a tragic waste on many levels.
“ Collinsworth is horrible.
I turn the sound down when he is on.
”
Same here - kisses so much butt with so much adoration I think he must be a fag 🤪
So, will the Bucs be the most protected team in the NFL or will they have to take their chances with the refs like the rest of the league does? Seems like Brady was protected by the zebras his whole career (anyone remember the Tuck Rule employees against the Raiders?).
the Cowboys do....................
In other sports, Magic Johnson, Wayne Gretsky and Ted Williams all tried their hands at it. Nobody remembers any of their coaching records and for good reason.
Besides, NFL coaching is even more work-intensive than being a QB. Even in the off-season, coaches are putting in 12 hour plus days. It literally becomes your life.
Brady has enough money to do whatever the hell he wants for the rest of his life. Why would he want to stay up until 2 in the morning watching game films?
Bradybrand, TB12? What the heck is that, another set of sneakers?
I doubt it. Hollywood is almost dead, only TV and stage acting is still alive....but it's a profession that ties you down in a very stringent way, sometimes for long-ish periods of time....so I can't see him going into that career. Besides, in acting you are under the thumb of a director....and he's a guy that's been THE director in his team sport !
However, in addition to a TV career, I could ALSO see him running for public office in the next election....these guys like to be in the spotlight and to be in control of something.
(My gut feeling is that he's a RINO, and, if so, I hope he doesn't choose the political path).

Didn’t even think about the crowd.
Could be a problem if we still have “social distancing” LOL
Networks want the name value. It's not about whether they are funny or can explain defenses, the networks just want the guy with the marquee name. That's how Joe Namath, O.J. Simpson and others got commentary jobs.
The worst I ever saw was when CBS hired Johnny Unitas. He spoke in a bland, monotone voice, had nothing important to say, just seemed like some bumpkin who pulled up a chair in the booth and was handed a mic. But he was Johnny U.!! That's all CBS cared.
Brady has done radio segments for years with Westwood One in their Monday Night Football broadcasts which tells me he at least wants that iron in the fire but, frankly, I'm hoping he can find something more useful to do now.
What made Summerall so good was his total non-descript, deadpan delivery. I mean he just called the game as if he was talking to his next-door neighbor.
But Peyton would be so much better. He’s got the sense of humor, and the good insight. I really enjoyed The Manning Brothers on MNF. I’d rather watch them than the game itself.
I note that Peyton made an appearance last weekend on SNL, I have a feeling he will replace Collinsworth on Sunday Night Football.
