A music break on a snowy day. Who'd have think that 60 years ago a 75 year old man would be one of the few standing up for individualism and non conformist thought.

Van the Man and Eric Clapton.
I have ALWAYS loved them, and now even more so.

I am a big fan of Van the Man. I just looked at his discography and counted 26 of his albums are in my collection. I've seen him live five times. The first time was in the early '70's, most recently was three years ago. I say all that as background to my comment below..
My favorite albums of his mostly come from the '90's. Though I think Wavelength and Poetic Champions are earlier and are two of my favorites. I do not like his newer (post 2000) releases nearly as much as his early music.
I do think it is great that he has taken the position that he has and agree with him. But musically, it really is not his best work.

Van, we’re still down South living in a free society.

In the 1970s, you could not go wrong on a date if you had a Van Morrison tape in the car cassette player. The girls all loved Van's music.
Not side two of Led Zeppelin IV as the movie "Fast Times At Ridgemont High" tried to point out. Besides, "Kashmir" isn't even on that album. What were the writers of "Fast Times" thinking?

The rebels of Yester-Year
Planted songs in their generation
Sang against the establishment
Against tyranny
Against abuse
Until they were only empty words
Uttered behind their castle walls.
