@NORML
#Florida @GovRonDeSantis was asked about his position on legalizing #marijuana and he responded with this.
This is what we are up against...

Anything can be a gateway drug to the weak minded. I’ve been smoking pot for 45 years and it’s not been a gateway drug to other drugs for me. Also I know plenty of others for whom the same is true.
I will assume that you’ve likely never smoked pot but are an absolute expert about it’s effects.
I agree. That đź’© stinks.
Smoke it in your home or car.
They get cornfused, okay? Have you started a neighborhood “Don’t smoke and vote” campaign? Pass out literature stating “don’t get stoned and vote in liberal scum”? I didn’t think so. They just need educated, that’s all.
Thats the dumbest meme I’ve ever seen.
I agree.
Here in Washington where grow operations are very large and almost everywhere, the skunk aroma is almost sickening near them.
Weed today is far different from the 70s - it used to be fun back then. Now smoking a hit of it is more like a lobotomy for me, and I have zero desire for it.
I’ve also watched how everything in this state has deteriorated since it became legal. Folks were lazy as it was before dope shops were more common than convenience stores, but now no one wants to work.
I never did it, but lived in Alaska when just about everyone smoked it — the disco era. I actually like the smell.
Skunky.
Its the greatest natural sleeping pill in the world, and its a great natural pain killer. Its a weed for Gods sake, much better to smoke a joint and get a good nights sleep than to have to take man made chemicals for help sleeping or for pain killing.
.. and sugar.. probably sugar more than all the others.
The ensuing deterioration is an understatement. California is a mess. :( And you’re so right about the skunk smell. It’s just horrible. :(
My neighborhood is in the thick of so many smokers. Can’t wait till my lease is up but in the meantime don’t know the damage it’s having on my health. :(
Because of the laws, I just feel powerless.
The weed today is not pure cannabis.
I do not know what to make of this. As a former partaker of herb - my first post on FR was in favor of decriminalizing - the downside to prevalent use among the masses is laziness of mind and body in vocations that require extreme diligence with both. At bottom it seems unwise to encourage wholesale indulgence into altered states of awareness.
Blatant propaganda from a group of drug addicts.
People don’t secondhand smoke pills. Ron de Santis wants to protect everyone’s freedom! Including freedom to breathe. I’m suffering a lot from 2nd and 3rd hand weed and it’s destroying Los Angeles. Homeless encampments and weed dispensaries everywhere. It’s gross!
This is not the pure hippie cannabis of the 70s!
Then your friend the doctor is lying to you, which these days doctors do with no problem, they’ve abandonded the Hippocratic Oath and instead are woke liars to push their socialistic ideology.
Took the words out of my mouth. I have a marijuana processing farm on my road. When they are processing, it sure smells like SKUNK. Before it was authorized, that’s what the neighbors mentioned as a reason to deny the permit. Neighbors were right. Fortunately, I only smell it when I go by.
Have you ever lived in an apartment building next to or above a heavy pot smoker? Everyone will think you are a pot smoker because all of your clothes will reek of pot smoke.
Again, Bullshit. I bet you believe Reefer Madness was true too.
Sorry to hear you live there - hope you can find a better place when your lease is up.
I’m about 75 miles north of Seattle in a small town, but there are often bus loads of homeless dropped off up here. Mostly young, and all addicts. Seattle is terrible. Most of the “professional homeless” are addicts as well.
It’s not LA or SF yet…
