Mustang II was a flop........................
I had the 300-6 in my 81 F-100...................
Years ago, many cars had that wow factor. Today, none have it.
The ‘80 Mustang was the iteration just after the Mustang II. No improvement. I frankly don’t know how the US auto industry survived. 70s and 80s cars were horrible.
The steering setup in the 64 -68 mustang was not well. As it got older there was a LOT of play in the steering. So the Mustang 2 steering is being used in the 64 -68 cars. So the Mustang 2 is contributing.
Thank you!
70’ & 80’s were they years of ‘planned obsolescence’............. The Japanese, especially Honda and Toyota, kicked the Big 3’s ass...............
A lot of Convertible tops are already made of it, but you have to ask to be sure..................
Yes, it was unkillable. Mine had a cracked block and it was still running when I sold it...................
What do you REALLY think about the new wave of EVs? If you have a long enough extension cord, they are great!!!
It's better in death than it ever was in life!...............
My BIL had a 65 V-8 Mustang under a cover in my MIL’s barn. The cover hasn’t been off for over 20 years.
I, also, love the certainty with which the future is predicted by the experts. They'll be wrong again.
People move to a new technology en masse when that tech is a wholesale improvement over the previous. The steam ship, then diesel and nuclear, were improvements over sailing vessels. The airplane an improvement over the hot air ballon. The internal combustion engine auto was an improvement over the horse and buggy.
The electric car is not an improvement over the gasoline version in any way. Not performance wise, sustainability-wise, and especially economically.
If they are so confident that the electric car is better and will transform transportation as we know then let the free market decide.
"I triple dog dare you!"
A true ‘barn find’!.........................
Bump
“ how great the Mach-E is. “
I reviewed one last summer. Nice vehicle, for a Ford. BUT.
I took it on a road trip, two hours on the highway. Had to charge it after an hour, took an hour, and that made is curtail our trip so we’d actually have some time for lunch at a closer destination.
And when I got home I added up the charging fees and it was about 60 Canadian dollars.
Two weeks later, my wife and I did the exact same trip in my 2005 Audi A4 Quattro sport wagon. V6, premium fuel. No hourlong delay to recharge and when I finally filled up a week or so later it cost about $50 Canadian.
Helluva incentive to go electric.
To be fair, it would work well as a commuter vehicle, depending on the commute, it for travel? Forget it.
“I didn’t want my family to be stuck behind them on the Interstate when their battery went dead.”
Ha ha! They must love your humor.
If you want a preview of car shows in the future, just go to Target and look at the blenders.
“The electric car is not an improvement over the gasoline version in any way”
The funny thing is that the electric car PREDATES the gasoline engine car. It was right up there with steam horseless carriages and all the other things that gasoline surpassed. What is old is new again.
