Something's very wrong at CVS, and it isn't pretty. What really got me was when an older white female manager barged into the treatment room during my pre-scheduled 12:20 pm visit, angrily telling the nurse she wasn't allowed to treat me, because I was "out of network" (even though my policy is a PPO and I'd been treated at that facility numerous times over the past several years). At age 73, I pay $150 a month out-of-pocket to be covered by a United HealthCare Medicare Advantage Choice PPO policy which allows treatment by providers either in-network or out-of-network. When I got home and called United, their rep told me the only way CVS's Minute Clinic could accept my insurance is if I changed the policy to include proof of income eligibility for Medicaid, the federal government's insurance program for indigents. How in hell is CVS getting away with treating only indigents?
What did this have to do with race?
According to the myth taught in schools, every White man is a trillionaire who spend his time exploiting everyone who isn’t a White man, and thus should be punished by being put at the back of every line and having his stuff stolen.
You need to move away from United. There are tons of policies out there.
There is something screwy going on with health care coverage, and pharmacy coverage, with CVS. All new and improved BS
I don’t have answers, just problems.
Call United back and ask them where you can go locally to get medical treatment. Then go to that place for medical treatment. And have a joy filled life!
Other than getting a flu shot or picking up a prescription, what kind of medical care does one get at CVS?
They now do circumcisions at some locations with a Physician’s Assistant.
A nervous Mohel?
i was sure you were about to tell us you were refused treatment for covid with Monoclonal Antibodies. Some doctors think this treatment should be reserved for certain racial groups only. Such opinions are being aggressively challenged as they should be.
This is the way.

Many/most locations have these so-called minute clinics which I think are an excellent idea, if you like the idea of keeping people out of emergency rooms. There are a lot of procedures they can do...as you’d guess minor ones, but that covers a lot of ground. They know what they can and can’t do and will send you on if they can’t handle your issue. They are staffed by nurse practitioners. The time I went to one they seemed competent and efficient.
I have long thought that “neighborhood” clinics were an important step in getting people out of the habit of going to the E-room in a hospital for everything that ails them.
My guess is that CVS gets to charge plenty more for treating indigents.
Much better than using an illegal alien gardener who’s good with a weed whacker.
The problem is between United and CVS.
It sounds like they have had a contract dispute. CVS probably wants more money and United probably wants to pay less. You’re stuck in the middle.
All you can do is see what clinics United will pay and choose between them. Or offer CVS to pay in full as an uninsured.
I had my ears cleaned at my CVS.
Your prior visits were an “out-of-network” screw-up by CVS?? PPO “out-of-network” visits would cost you more....you get billed extra for the prior visits?
Or check here and choose “clinics”: https://www.uhc.com/find-a-doctor
What the UHC rep. told you doesn’t make a lot of sense...either your current plan covers your local CVS Minute Clinic or it doesn’t. CVS Minute Clinics accepts A LOT of plans...their “checker”:

Not a medicare expert (3 years away).....but I did stay at a Holday Inn Express a few months back! ;-)
You got lucky. I had my wallet picked.
Maybe 4runner fits the description.

Exactly.
