No, Tesla has moved from California to Texas. In Texas where it has it’s headquarters Tesla has built a mammoth new production facility that revolutionizes auto manufacturing. Tesla will prevail because the cars from Texas will deominate the market.
Tesla has superior innovative and disruptive technology that is going to prevail.
You confuse Tesla with the UAW owned GM. GM sucks the taxpayer tit and is failing.
I am not an electric car promoter and have no inclination to buy one. I make observations and report my findings. Any Tesla securities are owned via a mutual fund

All true, but it doesn't say that properly honing the cylinder makes the rings spin around the piston.
However, I wonder how those "gapless" rings manage to form a good compression or oil seal. To work properly, a regular piston ring has to constantly exert a certain amount of tension against the cylinder wall. They are built slightly larger than the cylinder bore, and are "compressed" into the cylinder leaving a gap - so you can measure how much tension is left to hold it tight against the cylinder wall after it wears. If it is a solid ring, it will begin to leak and pass oil/gasses once it breaks in the cylinder wall and has even the slightest amount of clearance.

Even Teslas, and I love Elon, are primitive. They have a long way to go to even be on par with ICE cars. Yeah, they are pretty, and expensive, and are a virtue signaling device for people with money, but are not practical for a cross state trip...............................

The cars will be used by people in urban markets and short distances. The coming models will not be expensive.

Tesla’s are cool toys, no doubt about it... and most of their owners admit outright they own it for the cool tech, not because they think it’s saving the planet.
Tesla owners are as a whole, not nearly as smug as the original few years of Prius’ production owners... most of those folks were insufferable at the time.
Steve Jobs said the same thing about Segways when he and others were first privately shown the devices. “They will revolutionize transportation!”. Didn’t happen.
Unless some huge battery breakthrough comes out in the next couple of years, we are doomed to be trapped in our urban markets..........................

I see Teslas every day here in NW Florida, where we have a lot of wealthy people. Lots of both.
I’m also beginning to see a lot of Teslas on the Used Car lots. One place, the VW Dealership, had four.
When the batteries start downhill, they trade them in for a ICE engine VW auto..............

Nope, Cross hatch is visible even after 100k miles in modern engines. The cross hatch is what holds the oil in the cylinder walls.

I used Total Seal gapless rings in a 350 around 1982. Here’s a trick with gapped rings some don’t know, the second ring gap should be the same or more than the top ring. I’ve been doing that for over ten years.

Here’s what Total Seal says; “Crosshatch angles can also vary depending on the application. These angles determine the critical ring rotation speed, generally a 45 degree crosshatch angle will do a very good job.”(post 40)
