From my experience with my father-in-law, I highly recommend very close attention to the wound area. Often the patient will disregard injuries. The burden of being their advocate, inspector, care provider, etc will fall upon you. Don’t hesitate to reach out to the professionals.

Dear heavenly Father, We ask You today to heal and comfort our sister, Sharee. Give the surgeons, doctors and nurses wisdom and skill. Calm our brother, OneVike, during this stressful time. In this we pray. Amen.

Ok I was able to see her. Operation went well and she is now in recovery, but she is in pain. They are testing different pain relievers and may have to do a block to alleviate the pain
They are waiting for a room to mover her into. I talked her, gave her phone to her and now I am heading back to Payette.
She will call me when she can, and then we will chat FaceTime

Prayers sent. Lost my toe to gangrene and sepsis two years ago and am still getting regular debridements (#51 last week), still bleeding on occasion so I understand the infection concern. I was lucky that my surgeon gave me blockers before I woke up and I haven’t felt any real pain, so I hope she gets them sooner rather than later. I’m praying she gets great visiting nurses.
