he University of Michigan has fired its $927,000-a-year president for having an affair with a subordinate, a year after implementing wide sexual misconduct rules to stop people in power sleeping with their staff.

Mark Schlissel, 64, was informed in a letter on Saturday that he was being fired from the role he has held since July 2014. The university has also made public 118 pages of emails between him and the woman he had an affair with. She is not named and it's unclear how their romance came to light.

Among his pick-up lines are: 'Can I lure you to visit with the promise of a knish?’ and screenshots of take-out pizza receipts which he said were 'to whet your appetite. And tell you what's for dinner too.'

University presidents pay for themselves by fund-raising from wealthy/stupid alum.

They are scam artists.

Education has stunningly little to do with their job.

I know she won’t be fired. I’m saying that policy SHOULD be to fire them both, regardless, as a means of discouraging this.

German has THREE noun genders. Masculine, feminine AND neuter.

They have four cases and they alter adjectives as well as articles for case AND gender.

German requires some serious intelligence to speak.

So that’s what happened. I thought this was still the Michigan State gymnastics story.

The fact he instituted the policy knowing he was violating it points a characteristic of a liberal. They implement policies that they don’t intend to obey. They only want YOU to obey them.

And I’m always the one that gets in trouble for it. I will end up with an angry mob after me if I don’t cut and run when the coast is clear. Every single time.

That's funny.

And I thought Portuguese was a headache! I’ll stay away from German.

My learning Portuguese is a culmination of a lifelong obsession of Brazil. It goes back to my childhood days when cable hadn’t been imagined. He’ll, man had yet to step foot on the moon. There were only three tv stations and on Sundays, after the religious programming, they had documentaries and travel guides.
There was one show that featured brazil. It was BEAUTIFUL to this inland, never been anywhere kid. One of those far off exotic lands I knew I would never see.
And then came the internet and the world shrank.

Since I retired I noticed my mind becoming numb so I decided to learn Portuguese. Easier said than done but it gives me a time to look forward to every day, my daily mind stretching, world shrinking Portuguese lesson.

Compared to Polish, German is a cakewalk.

That’s what mental health counselors I try to see always say. I’m starting to learn that it IS funny when you have to look for a new job every couple of years because you refuse to date co-workers. Or at least I’m learning that it is. Have a nice day!

" Schlissel’s relationship with his wife, who lives in California, and the age differential between the lovers come into play here."

A million trillion dollars says the wife knew and didn't care. Take a look at the schnook.

"Schlissel has four children with Princeton graduate Monica Schwebs Schlissel, a 65-year-old environmental and energy law attorney now living near San Francisco in Moraga, Calif. His affair appears not to have been totally clandestine, as the emails refer to public appearances together at campus events and joint travel."

In fact, with this info alone, they will smoke out the woman's name before the end of the day, gleaning what more they need from the 118-page PDF the UM Board of Regents put out on this guy exposing the affair. Wow what a sweet burn.

Now that's crazy. If you show up to work. Keep to yourself. And not say anything else. Other people will get the hint.

Can’t say that I ever have. When one gets on in years, one’s wife puts on weight, and that must be tolerated. Especially if you’re fat, too. But to be into flab? Yuck.

Especially if his wife takes issue with it all the way to a divorce.
