The American Medical Association Falls to CRT

“The old world is dying and the new world struggles to be born. Now is the time of monsters.” This well-known quote is a liberal translation of Antonio Gramsci popularized by Slovenian philosopher Slavoj Žižek, which renders “In this interregnum a great variety of morbid symptoms appear” as “Now is the time of monsters.” Antonio Gramsci, the Italian Communist leader and theoretician who is considered the forefather of Critical Race Theory, had probably no idea that, a century later, such an accurate insight into his time would prove to be incredibly prophetic of our own here and now. Today the monsters -- or morbid symptoms -- are among us as neighbors, colleagues, and friends accept and embrace the Critical Race Theory and its ramifications in the many fields of human life and scientific research.

One of these fields -- perhaps the most unthinkable -- is that of medical science and practice. Things have meaningfully changed since on June 25, 2021, White Coats for Black Lives (WC4BL), a national organization led by medical students, published its statement of “vision and values.” The organization, which boasts 75 chapters at medical schools across the country and was called to action by the Black Lives Matter movement, “aims to dismantle racism in medicine and fight for the health of Black people and other people of color […]. Our job is two-fold: 1) dismantling dominant, exploitative systems in the United States, which are largely reliant on anti-Black racism, colonialism, cisheteropatriarchy, white supremacy, and capitalism; and 2) rebuilding a future that supports the health and well-being of marginalized communities.” WC4BL also focuses on “dismantling fatphobia,” embracing “Black queer feminist praxis (theory and practice),” “unlearning toxic medical knowledge and relearning medical care that centers the needs of Black people and communities.”

It seems like there is a race to see who can be the most crazy in the WOKE circus. Here is my reason to be outraged today: “Bug spray harms gay and transgender bugs!!!”

The organization, [...] “aims to dismantle racism in medicine and fight for the health of Black people and other people of color […].

I wonder how the so-called "other people of color" - who actually outnumber Blacks - like being lumped together, like the Professor and Maryann, in a nameless "the rest?"

Regards,

Wasn’t Gramsci a mentor to Peter N. Buttgig’s Dad?

About 12% of physicians are dues paying members of the AMA.

AMA has been woke for many years.

Just like Pediatrics with asking children if parents have guns in the home.

Exactly. I haven't been a member since residency.

They are now calling my office to encourage me to join. Never have done that before. They clearly are hurting. They turned left under Clinton and now at a sprint. Most only joined because of group insurance rates.

“Just like Pediatrics with asking children if parents have guns in the home.”

Happened to my kids. After the second time, that was it for pediatric check-ups. If I couldn’t handle their sicknesses with my own supplies, I took them to Urgent Care.

Title: What Does Bias Look Like?
Title: What’s the Difference Between Bias and Instincts?
Title: Overcome Your Unconscious Bias
Due Date: 1/14/2022

Thank god I’m retiring in a few months and I’m past due on taking all of the above:-)

The AMA is a political organization and not a medical one. Hasn’t been for decades. They have about 25% of doctors as members but most of those are new docs looking for something from the AMA. Older docs rarely belong to the AMA.

The AMA fell to communism long ago. It is a far left political lobbying group. I do not know one physician who belongs to the AMA or who takes them seriously

Wonder if this doc is s member of the AMA...

@RealCandaceO: A friend of mine (board certified surgeon in VA) prescribed his patient ivermectin for something unrelated to covid. The pharmacy called to inform him the prescription was blocked by the @US_FDA. The FDA is utterly compromised and earning money to block drugs from the market.

Why are docs, especially docs who aren't members of the AMA, staying quiet about crap like this?!
