Cassandra Peterson, aka iconic horror hostess Elvira, Mistress of the Dark, claims she lost 11,000 “horny old men” followers on social media after she came out as queer in September.
“I knew that there were going to be some horny old men out there who were just not going to like the fact that they didn’t have a chance with me anymore,” Peterson joked on Thursday’s episode of David Yontef’s “Behind The Velvet Rope” podcast.
She laughed and added, “and I hate to tell them they already didn’t have a chance of me anyway.”
The 70-year-old “Queen of Halloween” shocked fans last year when she revealed her nearly two-decade-long romance with partner Teresa “T” Wierson.
“[It] flipped everybody out,” she recalled. “Nobody was ready for that. People just said, ‘Elvira, you lied to me. I don’t respect you anymore. Goodbye,'” she said.
Peterson added that her honesty cost her 11,000 followers on social media — though the 60,000 new ones she gained more than made up for the loss.

So, I guess if the 11K are “horny old men” that makes her a horny old woman, given she thinks we all need to know how she has sex. That at least makes it all equal between her and those she disparages…given her need to be a blatant exhibitionist about it, I’d say the horny old men may be more upstanding by simply leaving than this horny old woman is by spouting.

Reminds me of Morgana...an. “exotic” dancer that was a local celebrity when I was young. She was EXTREMELY well endowed. There was an event downtown when she did a walk on main street. We pushed our way to the curb as she walked by.

"Elvira" was married to 20 years to a guy. She's been with this woman for almost 20 years. The woman wasn't 10 when they met. She's 60 or so now and "Elvira" is 70.

If she had been molested, she wouldn't have "discovered" that she was gay at 50. "Coming out" implies that she was lesbian all along, but that wasn't the case. And no, some gays have been molested as children or adolescents, others not.
I kinda liked her shtick, but I never had the hots for her. Notice, she picked up 60,000 new followers, so my guess is that coming out was a well-calculated and successful career move.
I go with Ben Franklin on the appeal of older women: They don’t tell, they don’t swell and they are grateful as hell.
She claims she was sexually assaulted by Wilt Chamberlain in the 70's, so that would have been her late 20's
