I have never agreed with everything by Pat, but that book was a great work.
On current American issues, he has been right more than not.
I met Pat in 1995. He won the NH primary in 1996 and basically faded away. I loved his columns back before Reagan was elected.
Buchanan has a keen eye on History.
His writing is often in the same muscular style of VDH.
Ya learn lots from reading it.
Often in plain language, with just a bit of highfalutin wordsmithing with Latin or Greek phrasing, both have impact beyond their verse.
Always a pleasure to engage with sharp minds.
and, oh yeah, just like “Scalia Dissents”, “Buchanan was right” will be a phrase embraced by Conservatives.
If we only would have voted for Pat…
I voted for Pat over Daddy Bush and then shamefully held my nose until Trump.
Pat Buchanan has been consistently courageous to say the things he has. Many times people on our side did not want to hear his words.
I do not agree with everything he has said, but he saw right through Lincoln.
Yes indeed!
Pat was correct...
Pat has been right from the beginning. It was not that long ago if you agreed with Pat in any way conservatives would label you a Joooo hater and you would be shunned.
I was given “Death of the West” 20 years ago as a gift but never read it. I read it finally a year ago or so and the guy was truly a Nostradamus.
I don’t often toot…my horn I mean.
I told people way back when Buchanan ran the first time for the Repub nomination and got beaten…no slaughtered that the conservative cause and thus the Repubs were going to pay and suffer.
I was laughed at by Libs and repubs. I think Buchanan is one of the most solid and brilliant mind our cause has had for a LONG time.
pat buchanan is a morom
Buchanan and Perot in 1992 opened my eyes and caused me to turn in my Republican credentials for good. I’ve never looked back.
Recall his boss signed the 86 Amnesty Deal with the dims.....and I loved Reagan.
Oh but the National Review called him an “anti-Semite” once.
I ve always liked Pat. Very smart man.
About 30 years ago, he warned us that political correctness (I don’t think he used those exact words) would destroy America. Nobody paid attention.
On globalists I think he is correct, yet I think he wrongly tarnishes any robust U.S. foreign policy as globalist.
A great man, but the media and the globalist Bush league Republicans convinced you he was an “extremist” so you voted for Bush. Thanks a lot Bush lovers!
