Football must be the hardest, players are spread out all over the field.
So, I can use Judo on anybody trying to get the ball from.
Awesome.
WINNER.
I know it when I see it.
And I see it, a lot.
Used to be Major League Baseball when the likes of Billy Martin were around.
Now the umps just give em the heave ho and thats that.
Wasnt for the umps, baseball wouldnt be worth watching.
> I think motor racing
Especially F1, even with a panel. They have all the tech but meanwhile the race goes on, there’s ridiculous money in the sport, and the nuances and timing of a call have massive impact.
Underwater basket weaving.
Baseball
1) Explain the rules for a Balk
2) There are rules for 1 in million type plays umps have to know
3) Unlike other sports where the playing field/area/floor is same from venue to venue, each baseball stadium is different and has its own rules. I.e. Read the rules on hitting the roof at the current Astrodome.
Naked Curling,
without a doubt!!!
Even the refs are naked.
A lot of snap judgements.
All of them. Making decisions quickly is hard.
See post number.
Good point on baseball, because every plate umpire has a slightly different strike zone.
Women’s naked curling. It has to be The hardest to referee, I now it’s hard for me. 😜
Oh yeah, Happy NewYear FReepers. Be safe in 2022. Ya’ll are needed here and Thanks.
I agree. Try spotting the difference between a blocking foul and a charging foul. Most of the refs can't even tell.
When I was a kid we used to argue all the time about sports stuff. We had a rule where you struck out if you took 3 swings & missed. No walks.
One day I propped a garbage can against a backstop and we said if it goes inside the garbage can, it’s a strike. Outside, it’s a ball. We called it ‘garbage ball’.
It was amazing how many times I got on base after that.
Spotting those indistinct clouds of yellow forming in a giant basin filled with chlorinated water must be a killer!
Regards,
I think I threw an almost-forgotten gerund in there, too, along with participles and infinitives. But at the very least I had a complete sentence.
When I was playing…that was pretty much the case as far as I recall. My brain got a little fuzzy after a couple of years. Ha ha.
