For months now, people (including myself) have been having a problem that Roku has yet to come up with an answer for. During setup, the setup program asks for your email so it can send you an activation code, but it never arrives, and after a few moments, the setup screen says your email was not received.
There are more than 400 complaints about this on the Roku support page, with several from people who have signed up with several email services in an effort to connect, but experienced the same problem.
Anyone else encountered this? Anyone have a workaround?
Thanks!
(I have an older Roku that still works, luckily. This hassle is during an attempt to set up a new device).
I’ve loved Roku since the Model 3, and have been through, hmm, a couple of others, currently use a RokuTV, Roku Ultra, and Roku Ultra LT (a better value).
Thanks for the heads-up on this. We have Roku+ and a Samsung TV, I didn’t know we had this available. We are planning on ditching Xfinity on the tv side, and keeping the internet. I’m paying too much for too much we don’t watch.
What’s the difference between just using the app, and having a ROKU stick?
Free2View TV Select
Thanks.
Will look it up.
Is this the same as Featured Free?
Our reception via antenna all depends on the weather. Some days we scan and find 90 stations lock in..only to disappear a few moments later. Nothing is more annoying than to attempt to watch a broadcast that pixelates constantly.
Best reception seems to appear after a storm. Clean air? Clouds? Why then is certainly a mystery.
How good is your OTA antenna? Maybe you can go higher and bigger?

Yep~ Rockford!
Sorry, no answer for you. My other half set ours up about 8 years ago. Since the set up, he’s lost his password; moving, we changed ISP and have been unable to notify them of email change. Their customer service does lack bright bulbs at times. The phone numbers found are useless and persons on the other end of the line, difficulty in communicating.
Hope a solution is found for you soon.
I live in an Antenna Signal Hole in South Florida. I have an antenna up for the TV, but, we live on a sailboat and just can’t pull in signals from more than 30 miles or so. A lot depends on what way the bow is facing during the day.
One day, I hope to put an antenna up on top of the mast (48ft) and that will fix many issues.
We use a ROKU stick, thus able to load the app and
view on device. As noted on comments above, quite possible
it would load with other devices as well (though never attempted)
:-) A step stool is the highest thing climbed in this
household. Acrophobia worsens as one grows older.
Bought a new one last year. Sits atop a pole just above the roof in height. Moving neighbors gave us a tower which will be used when ‘we get a “roundtoit”. Not only are we 50+ miles from a larger market (DFW) the trees around the neighborhood are too numerous to
count. We do get 2 local stations more often than not (Sherman/Denison) and, on occasion, Oklahoma City.
Love our Roku, too.
Finding the “Midsomer Murders” station on Pluto was just
by luck. Elsewhere, in the many apps, have seen libraries
showing the seasons and the episodes to view on demand.
The photography, jaunting around the countryside, this holds
our interest as much as the plot. :) England, they may not
have ownership of guns, yet they manage to find weapons in the most obscure things. Pitchforks to rocks, there’s always
something found.
Aren’t the gardens beautiful?
When I pulled it up it was all live streaming and there was no guide, and no info about what was being shown. I’ll get in to it tomorrow and see if I can figure out out.
Don’t believe so.
Featured Free on the home page - noticed this recently when viewing the ROKU Tips and Tricks. Don’t remember its being there in the early days of ownership.

Thank you! It’s very frustrating, and apparently has been for hundreds, especially those who bought the Roku Tv’s. The fact they can’t find a way around a simple email verification is kind of unreal.
