In a rather bizarre move, NASA has recruited a British priest to prepare the religious for the discovery of alien life as space agencies claim to be getting closer to discovering evidence that life exists outside of planet earth reports The Times.
Reverend Dr. Andrew Davison, a priest and theology professor at the University of Cambridge, is among 24 theologians who participated in a program sponsored by NASA at the space agency’s Center for Theological Inquiry (CTI) at Princeton University. The theologians attempted to assess how major religions would react to news of alien life being found.
A NASA expert said [to the U.K.] The Times: “We may not discover life for 100 years. Or we may discover it next week.”

they aren’t seperate, they are complementary.
This has been explored “ad nauseam” in many SciFi novels and short stories. It would be far easier, cheaper & just as “accurate” to bind these books & stories into one report with a 6th grade reading level executive summary for FedGov executives. Money clearly burning a hole in some NASA division pocket that clearly could be better spent elsewhere.
‘Not ONE word that says there ARE.’
not one word about the internal combustion engine; does that mean it doesn’t exist...?
‘they aren’t seperate, they are complementary.’
direct contradictions are not complementary...
Could it be that the Bible never was intended to be an operator/maintenance manual for the entire universe? Could it be that the Bible's intended purpose was to provide a template for living and signpost to Redemption through Christ and not an almanac?
Have you ever thought that God provided us with things to discover so that we could begin to appreciate the Majesty of Creation?
Just an opinion, but it looks like they will soon have to deal with it. About a week ago, I watched a podcast with a former CIA officer speak on the subject of so-called "aliens" and he said basically that he thought we might all have been worshiping the wrong deity...suggesting that Lucifer, the light-bringer, was interested in developing humans and God was only interested in holding us back.
I agree, so await proof one way or another. If there are aliens, one question to be debated is whether God was incarnate once for the entire universe, or if He manifests Himself for each race. If He came only once to Earth, that would explain why alien races would have an enormous interest in our planet.
I have a list of questions for The Man to be asked after my death.
Remember the “find” of “fossilized algae or bacteria” on MARS a few decades ago?
The first thing the reporters did was rush to the nearest preacher and ask “What do you think of the find of fossilized life on MARS?”
Then it was found to be a natural formation and forgotten.
Now all that will be needed will be for government to spend about 70 years restoring its credibility.

Unsaid : “Or we have already discovered it, but we are just not telling you ... yet.”
I smell a trap.
Redshirt. You know you'll be the first, right?
"It's a COOKBOOK!"
Conversely, the Koran and the other 4 holy Islamic texts tell followers to destroy anything not mentioned.
Until we can communicate with honey bees and other colonial civilizations, we can forget about extraterrestrials
But I'm guessing this priest worships the state, simply because he's willing to take this job.
The priest is a foreign agent representing the government of the Vatican
I could see how the story could be added onto, but not changed.

Perhaps you missed this
- All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness,
I don’t think engines are required to teach us what we need to know to be
useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness,
but we are taught about other than human folk, with a big end times warning not to be deceived .
Ymmv.
I don’t beleive God used evolution to create us either , not saying you do, just I don’t.
If you really want to get into the weeds on this I’ll save some time and just recommend you go to khouse.org and search aliens or go to a library and get the Chuck missler books
Alien Encounters ,
and
Cosmic Codes
Not sure, but I think this priest is Anglican.
