Maybe the answer to this problem is to allow OPEN CARRY in the metaverse. Same effect as a "bubble", but it only keeps the perv away.

I don't get the attraction of immersing yourself in a fake world when reality is all that matters. Does their real life suck that bad?

You are spot on. When/if it gets good enough and cheap enough, a huge % of the population is just going to disappear into the virtual reality hole and never resurface. It’s probably much more eco-friendly to feed someone with a tube who is content to live in a vr creche in real life. The elites will get the population reduction they crave.
