How to Get Hitched (and Stay Hitched): A 12-Step Program for Marriage-Minded Women
Amazon Books ^ | 2021 | Suzanne Venker

Posted on 12/15/2021 6:02:10 PM PST by conservatism_IS_compassion

SUZANNE VENKER is the author of five books on the culture’s assault on marriage and the family (and how to circumvent it), as well as a marriage coach and podcast host of The Suzanne Venker Show. For over 15 years, Suzanne has taught women how to succeed with men in life and in love. She’s a leading voice for millions of women and men who know that a partnership with the opposite sex is superior to constant competition. Suzanne’s extensive research, combined with her sound and compelling arguments, dispel feminist myths that have infiltrated society and undermined women’s most important relationships. She has helped women:

• embrace the way men and women are naturally wired

• prioritize marriage and relationships over career

• express their unique value outside the marketplace

• enjoy the power of their femininity in sex and relationships

• build a lasting, satisfying relationship with a man

• build a flexible career that accommodates the needs of children and family life

Suzanne is a former columnist at the Washington Examiner and former contributor at Fox News. Her 2012 article, “The War on Men,” remains one of Fox News’ most read op-eds in history.

Suzanne’s work has also appeared in publications such as Time, USA Today, and the New York Post and has been featured in The Wall Street Journal, Newsweek, The Atlantic, Forbes, The Huffington Post and London’s Daily Mail.

Her TV credits include Fox & Friends, STOSSEL, The View, CNN, ABC and more. She has appeared on hundreds of radio programs throughout the country, and her work has been featured on “The Dr. Laura Program,” “The Late Show with Stephen Colbert” and “The Rush Limbaugh Show.”

A former English teacher, Suzanne was born in St. Louis, MO, and graduated from Boston University in 1990. After ten years on the East Coast, Suzanne returned to the Midwest, where she now lives with her husband of 23 years and their two teenagers, who are now in college. I came up with the agreement that we would share the chores. I do half and she do half, alternating between the chores.

After the marriage, I did all of the chores (and cooking) while she went out and cheated.

She’s an adult.

I have found that communication is far less a problem than willingness.

When it’s a big issue and both parties agree it’s a big issue, you can see her side and she can see your side, you just don’t agree. One of you has to back down, submit.

Biblically, men are called to be the first one to model this submission behavior. But it is being pushed by our feminized churches that men are supposed to ALWAYS submit in these kinds of disagreements. Total, complete nonsense.

It’s like a pair of gears that aren’t meshing, they’re grinding, and one prong of the gear needs to be pulled back and cut away. The gears will start meshing again. When they grind again, you don’t chip off a rung from the same gear, you chip it off the other one, alternating back & forth until the 2 gears mesh. Otherwise you have major slippage.

The issue is willingness, and stubbornness. Not communication.

The trick is to buy a quality rig that self levels for even weight distribution on both the front and rear wheels of the tow vehicle and also incorporates an anti sway system for wind gusts.

It’s always 100% each.
Full effort, full commitment.
HOWEVER...sometimes one person’s 100% is not at great as the other’s.

I view it as each is a vessel which is completely full. Maybe one day I’m a 16oz glass, completely full and that same day she can only be a thimble, but she’s completely full also. Both always full of commitment, but life circumstances are such that the size of the vessel carrying capacity can change. Don’t be a half full vessel. Half full vessels say things like; “I don’t care” and “I’m going to do what I want anyway” =o/

Just always be a full vessel.

...that is all

My point is about the "foundation" for a lasting relationship.

Communication is important, but how and how well you communicate is something that changes with time.

My premise is that things that change over time are not "foundational".

” Reducing it to satisfying men’s bodily functions is simply using them and women are not so stupid as to not see that.”

I admit it is a crass over-simplification. But the POINT is that if a woman isn’t doing those two things then everything ELSE she does will still not make for a happy marriage. You can wash and wax your car all day long but if you don’t put in oil and gas it will never move. Some things are foundational.

Sally was driving home from one of her business trips, in Northern Arizona, when she saw an elderly Navajo woman walking on the side of the road.

As the trip was a long and quiet one, she stopped the car and asked the Navajo woman if she would like a ride.

With a silent nod of thanks, the woman got into the car.

Resuming the journey, Sally tried – in vain – to make a bit of small talk with the Navajo woman.

The old woman just sat silently, looking intently at everything she saw, studying every little detail, until she noticed a brown bag on the seat next to Sally.

“What in bag?” asked the old woman.

Sally looked down at the brown bag and said: “It’s a bottle of wine

I got it for my husband.”

The Navajo woman was silent for another moment or two

Then, speaking with the quiet wisdom of an elder, she said: “Good trade…”
