Why ? Because that doesn’t make for a good movie story line. Perhaps he couldn’t get his life together after the loss of his one true love. Imagination trumps reality every time.
To: Impala64ssa
Surprising they didn’t convert it to an Electric Vehicle during the restoration, but left it fossil fuel powered.

Nice ad. No PC, no hate. Shows bit of what has been lost.

If it is the commercial I think it is, it is very well done.

The PD in the town of Ramapo in NY where I grew used used Biscaynes in 1964, with 409’s. The local street rodders grabbed them up when they were auctioned off. They ended up being raced at Pine Plains, Englishtown, Atco, etc. I doubt if any of them are around anymore.

I’ve seen the commercial several times the past couple of days.
It’s a great commercial.
Reminded me of my ‘64 Impala convertible that I still miss.
...Haven’t seen a new Budweiser ad this year.

Didn’t watch the ad. Did they, “upgrade” the Impala to Electric/Hybrid?

Dayum.
Okay, who put the pods in Chevrolet’s cellar?!
Note to Chevy: If you still made cars as fine as the one in your excellent ad, we’d be buying Chevys.

I owned a ‘66 Caprice with the 396/425 horse motor. Big cam, solid lifters, but the exterior looked civilian with full hub caps and whitewalls.
The big GM mills didn’t like winding tight. The 425 blew just a year after I got it.
