a $900 credit for buying an e-bike... up to 30% of the cost? That’s a $3,000 bike?! Talk about a 1%er! But wait... its means-tested so you also have to earn $72,000. So that bike has to be 3-4% of your annual income.

Am I the only one tired of the whole "do a trick, get a dog biscuit" tax code? It's past time to nuke the whole thing and just pay a tax rate on your income with no personal defections, exemptions or credits. I really don't care if you're a teacher or you buy an e-bike or even donate to charity. Do what you want with your money but don't demand that I subsidize it on April 15th.

The money to fight infant and maternal mortality is (as always) misplaced.

My wife works in NICU (neonatal intensive care unit) in Champaign, Illinois. She says the reason there are so many deaths is due to ingesting large quantities of drugs and alcohol, not lack of insurance coverage.

I saw that and thought, I'd kind of like to have an e-bike, so thanks y'all.

but then I read the credit is 30% of the purchase price up to $900.

So a $400 e-bike and y''all would only be contributing $120.

But I could look at $3000 e-bikes so that y'all could contribute the full $900. Very generous of you.
