BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KBAK/KBFX) — A man in Ridgecrest was arrested on Saturday after he shot at two teens for throwing water balloons, according to the Ridgecrest Police Department.
On Dec. 4, around 10:50 PM officers with RPD were called to the Ridgecrest Regional Hospital regarding victims of a shooting.
When officers arrived they learned the two male victims, 18 and 17 years of age, were driving around in a pick-up truck with water balloons.
The two teens were driving around the town when they came upon the suspect, 63-year-old Mark Shell, who was asleep in his pick-up truck which was parked on the side of the road near N. McClean St. and E. Ward Ave.
The victims threw the water balloons at Shell's vehicle.
While inspecting his vehicle for damage, the Shell noticed the victims had turned around and were driving back. He retrieved a 12 gauge shotgun from his vehicle.
As the teens drove by him, the Shell discharged his shotgun at the driver’s door, causing damage to the truck and minor injuries to the driver, according to RPD.
Shell drove off in his truck.
A few hours later, a KCSO Deputy located Shell and his truck in the desert area of W. Bowman Av. and Highway 395. RPD Officers and Detectives responded to that location and took him into custody without incident.

Bet those teens won’t do that again....
Not defending the guy, but I do bet you won’t see those two doing that stunt again...

For all we know the water balloons were frozen. Creepy journalists not only pick the stories to report, they also write the headlines. And the articles.
