What a great song, my favorite line is "when California, tumbles into the sea".

A few weeks ago I discovered a channel on the web that is nothing but 24/7 Casey Kasem radio shows. 1970 to 1987 ish.

Love reliving the better times.

By 1973, I stopped adding music to my listening choices. I’m 1950s and 60s. That’s enough for me.

Much of the rest of the 1970s was a disaster for music. Oh sure, there were exceptions, like Steely Dan, but there was a lot of bad music during the latter part of that decade.

I’m still adding music to my listening choices. They still make great stuff out there.

I went to high school in Springfield, VA. Annandale is the next suburb town over, so my high school friends and I got a kick out of the lyrics.

Much of the rest of the 1970s was a disaster for music.

I doubt about that, the 70's had Zep, Styx, Rush, and Nazereth.

78 and 79 was plagued by the disco hysteria, but there is one song from that era that when it is played on oldies radio that I turn up the volume and that is "Funkytown".

Very good cover, but nothing can replace the original Steely Dan version.

I first heard this in my aunt's Buick Rivera, while she was smoking away with my Mom, and I was in the back seat.
