For climate experts and policymakers, $1 trillion is just a start.
As the U.S. seeks to prove it’s serious about its international climate commitments, the focus now is on whether the Biden administration can pass its $2 trillion spending bill, which includes $555 billion to fight climate change and could be the new cornerstone of federal climate policy.
The $1 trillion bipartisan infrastructure bill passed by Congress this month already commits historic levels of funding for climate projects. But experts say the U.S. won’t reach its climate goals or restore its international credibility unless the administration can pass its Build Back Better bill, which features a variety of other climate initiatives and calls for significant investments in clean energy.
The sizable dollar figures offer a sense of the scale of the challenge the U.S. faces in rolling back its emissions, undoing some environmental damage and preparing for more climate-related natural disasters.

Climate scientist Jonathan Foley sees reasons to feel encouraged even beyond what happens in Congress.
“Sometimes we get obsessed with these large policies, as if they’re going to save the world, but the real work of reducing emissions and addressing climate change is often lots of invisible forces working every single day,” said Foley, the executive director of Project Drawdown, a nonprofit organization that provides resources about climate solutions.
Market forces and technological advances have, for example, helped drive down the cost of solar and wind power, which in turn is contributing to the shift away from fossil fuels. Vocal opposition, led in particular by young activists, is also pressuring government officials to act, Foley said.

Biden could meet all future US CO2 reduction goals in one east step. Issue a mandate banning all private jets in the country.
> $555 billion to fight climate change <
One reason this is so tragic is that this money could be put to good use elsewhere. It could be used to build bridges, update VA hospitals, pay down the national debt, etc.
But, no. The money will be used to combat a problem that doesn’t exist in the first place. Sort of like building expensive coastal forts to protect us against sea monsters.
As far as I know no group of climate “scientists” has ever called for the abolition of private jet travel.
If it passes the money will disappear and then they’ll want more and more and more and more
The Profound Junk Science of Climate
By Norman RogersClimate change prophecy hangs its hat on computer climate models. The models have gigantic problems. According to Kevin Trenberth, once in charge of modeling at the National Center for Atmospheric Research, “[None of the] models correspond even remotely to the current observed climate [of the Earth].” The models can’t properly model the Earth’s climate, but we are supposed to believe that, if carbon dioxide has a certain effect on the imaginary Earths of the many models it will have the same effect on the real earth....
Alterations To The US Temperature Record
For the past decade or so, I have been documenting how US temperature graphs released by NOAA and NASA are not representative of their own raw data. This work has been high profile on a number of occasions, but has been repeatedly censored by the press as “conspiracy theory.” This happened as recently as yesterday on DailyKos.Reality is that the data alterations are no secret, and that NOAA and NASA acknowledge that they do it. In this post I will document the magnitude of the adjustments and how they can be visualized.
This graph of US temperatures was posted by NASA in 1999, showing a strong cooling trend from the 1930’s through the end of the century....
“But experts say the U.S. won’t reach its climate goals or restore its international credibility unless the administration can pass its Build Back Better bill”
$1 trillion is roughly ten thousand dollars for every American family. But they want another twenty thousand dollars from every American family, which approaches the annual income of the average family. And this money is needed to “restore.. international credibility” ?? I have an idea, lets ask the rest of the world to pay each American family $30,000, and we will promise to praise their credibility every day at dinnertime. MSNBC can broadcast infomercials every day saying how great they are. What a bargain for the rest of the world! all that “credibility” for only $3 trillion paid to Americans! Deal?
How can they spend trillions when the next great wave of corona virus, Omicron Variant, is about to hit the world?

Per the Goreacle, shouldn’t we already be dead?
Well said. And even if the problem did exist, this would not make even a small dent in it. For every coal plant we shut down, the Chinese build more.
We CANNOT survive without fossil fuels. And there is absolutely no case that man has caused climate change.
And there is absolutely no way that man can say what the correct temperature of the earth should be at any point anywhere and at any point in time. It's ridiculous.
I believe there are a lot of hidden players.
We have to get back on track...killing off farm land for solar farms is absurd. Natural gas is the way to go.....and everyone knows it.
> And even if the problem did exist... <
What really disturbs me about the whole Climate Change thing is how they have shut down debate. All topics in science - new or old - must be continually debated. And that debate used to be encouraged.
But not when it comes to man-made Climate Change. All debate is forbidden! You gotta wonder why.
On October 8, 2018, the UN’s Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change issued the “Special Report on the impacts of global warming of 1.5 deg. C above pre-industrial levels and related global greenhouse gas emission pathways.”
Folks, we have only 8.85753425 years left.
Most of the loot will go to buying private jet fuel.
Ft. Yukon Alaska 1915 it was 100 degrees climate experts cover ears.
The new world order will not need new roads and hospitals as they intend to get rid of 85% of the world population.
The rich protecting the rich?
I just want one climate alarmist to explain to me the following:
1. How much will it cost to fix global warming?
2. Who gets the money?
3. Where does the money come from?
4. What’s the plan to fix global warming
5. What is the risk mitigation plan in case whatever the heck you want to do fails?
Unless the plan is to plant 10 billion trees, have desalination facilities built all over the world, clean up the Ganges and every other polluted body of water, and build infrastructure to carry fresh water inland, there isn’t much more that can be done.
And my suggestion above is probably the best plan there is. What I would suggest is that a model city is built using only green technology. Let’s put it in Sinai. People from around the world can move there and live in the new “green” city for a period of years to see if the global plan for this is viable. And move the UN there as this would be sponsored by them.
Once everything is in place, nuke it from orbit just to be sure.
That has disturbed me greatly, too. I hate to see science corrupted, hate to see young people in despair over a fake catastrophe (that is curiously always a decade or two away, and has been for decades, yet they never seem to catch on).
Our elite (who are mainly essentially gnostic or atheist, both of which naturally tend toward hubris and nihilism) seem to be ushering an age of “men become as gods” — according to them, mankind is always the author of a just-over-the-horizon worldwide catastrophe and mankind must become its own savior. “Science” is the great idol, and none may question how the idol is carved by the priestly class. Real Science, as you correctly point out, is never completely “settled” but continually challenged.
I am old enough to remember The Population Bomb (We’re All Gonna Starve), Global Cooling (We’re All Gonna Freeze), The Hole in the Ozone (We’re All Gonna Get Fried to a Crisp), The Coming Dark Night of Air Pollution (We’re All Gonna Die in the Dark Wearing Gas Masks), Peak Oil (We’re All Gonna Die at the Gas Station When the Pumps Run Dry in the Year 2000) etc., etc. etc.
Civilization did not disappear from the face of the earth as mass starvation laid waste every continent as predicted, we did not die in the dark while wearing gas masks in 1985 as predicted, we did not wake up in a new Ice Age in 1990 as predicted, the gas pumps did not run dry in 2000, and we didn’t turn into crispy critters, either, even though we still have that pesky hole in the ozone layer.
Despite the dire Global Warming predictions of Algore and friends, polar bears are not extinct, the polar ice caps are still there, as are the snows of Kilimanjaro, the state of Florida is not under water ... I could go on and on.
Yet they keep beating the doomsday drums. Any questions from the “science denier” heretics and it’s excommunication (”cancel culture”).
Why are so many still bowing to this failed idol of dodgy “science” and lending their ears to its Vestal Virgin Greta? I’m still scratching my head, but maybe G.K. Chesterton had it right: “When men choose not to believe in God, they do not thereafter believe in nothing, they then become capable of believing in anything.”
All this doomsaying began in earnest back in the late 1960s/early 1970s, about the time of the Sexual Revolution when we began birth-controlling and aborting ourselves out of existence. “It’s for the good of the planet” we reassured oursrlves. Sacrificing unborn babies in abortion mills was somehow “for the good of future generations”. “The Planet” has become more worthy than “The People” nowadays among a very vocal set.
Our low fertility rate (1.78) is not as dire as Japan’s (1.36) or Europe’s, but it’s well below replacement (2.1). Non-Hispanic whites and Asians have the lowest rates, while Hispanics have the highest. “Results from the 2010 Census showed that racial and ethnic minorities accounted for 91.7% of the nation’s growth since 2000. Most of that increase from 2000 to 2010—56%—was due to Hispanics.” — according to a 2012 Pew analysis.
So, are white people hating on themselves because they sense they are dying out? (And we are a rapidly graying population — which is why we are importing people to prop up the pyramid schemes of Social Security and Medicare — luckily, we have a handy pool of Hispanics to draw on, unlike the Europeans who import from the Muslim World and have a keener sense of their culture dying out than we do.)
We exhibit all the signs of a decaying culture. I think many, if not most, of us sense that on some level. Are we attracted to these apocolyptic visions dreamed up by our “science” because we’d rather believe We’re All Gonna Die than face the fact our Western European Christian culture may be dying out? Are we hating on ourselves and blaming every ill on ourselves in order to convince ourselves we “deserve” it and “The Planet is better off without us”?
Meanwhile, it has been reported that polls show over a third of Americans under 45 plan to have no children or fewer children because of climate change.
Or is it just another symptom of a decaying society?
