Energy company CEO says DEC is holding them to standards that 'don’t even exist’
The New York State Department of Environmental Conservation (DEC) on Oct. 27 struck down the proposed Danskammer project in mid-Hudson Valley, saying the project did not comply with the state’s new climate law. The decision marked a precedent-setting moment in the implementation of the state’s Climate Leadership and Community Protection Act (CLCPA), which passed in 2019 and calls for sharp reductions in the use of fossil fuels, such as the natural gas that would power the Danskammer facility.
The DEC also denied a permit for Astoria Gas Turbine Power in Queens. The two proposed plants would “interfere with the statewide greenhouse gas emissions limits established in the Climate Act,” said DEC Commissioner Basil Seggos in a statement on Oct. 27. “As more weather-dependent and unpredictable wind and solar are used to supply our electricity, New York needs power options like a repowered Danskammer that can quickly step in to keep the lights on,” continued Reid. “For these reasons, DEC’s decision to deny our Title V Air Permit was unjustified, and not in the best interests of New York residents or their future power needs.”

But those democrats didn’t just appear out of nowhere.
The majority of the voters of New York put them there.

Democrats are working as quickly as they can to raise their communist Chinese patrons up by destroying America from within. In an extraordinary circumstance a handful of Democrats did stand up to Usurper Joe though. I saw an article on how, “Are Democrats About to Tank Biden’s Communist Banking Nominee?”, and you can give that a look at Townhall. This is a rare occasion where the alt-far-left does the correct thing, so don’t get used to it and don’t hold your breath waiting for it to happen again.
Right. I kept thinking all year that given the lockdowns and job losses and masks mandates of 2020 that the alt-far-left would be swept from power. Then they announced ‘vote by mail’ (NOT the same as absentee, which requires 1) a request for ballot, 2) proper ID, 3) chain of custody), and the rest is election theft history. They didn’t just steal the presidency, they stole the House and Senate too. The razor thin margins prove that.
Let’s all remember this is a few years when it’s announced that NYS is experiencing rolling blackouts due to an “energy crunch.” Just like CA.
I could care less right now about California, Oregon, Washington, Illinois, New York and DC. The rest might be savable.
The power company should pull the plug on NYC and tell them its in the best interest of meeting their climate goals.

Dominated by downstate voters in the NYC area. If Westchester, Rockland, Nassau counties, and NYC split off New York State would be red. (Suffolk could go to Connecticut or join upstate in a non-contiguous union.)
The be prepared for those of us refugees who were born in the state and are trying our damnedest to get out. When you’re low or fixed inxome and don’t own your home, it’s really difficult. You have no assets when you’re living check-to-check.
My income is fixed, and my husband is having a hard time putting anything away. Sh!t in IL isn’t easy. We’ve been saving for a DECADE, and still don’t have enough for a down payment without a killer mortgage (plus insurance and property taxes) on a modest house ($125k and under; preferably under), let alone the move itself. He’d also have to find work wherever we go.
It’s easy to say, “Well, just leave!” It’s not always that easy. Have some fvcking sympathy.

I no longer even consider them to be Americans....they’re outright communists that should be driven from our shores. They’re AINOs: American In Name Only.
I understand. And it really sucks to be a conservative in those states, but the majority has to be made to see how wrong they are to vote for democrats.
Same thing for Illinois regarding Chicago, and California regarding the LA basin and the Bay area. Colorado for Denver and Boulder, Nevada for Las Vegas, and Minnesota for Minneapolis.
I wish they all could kick out the cities from their states or leave the democrat city run states and start their own states.
But how can that be done if the Left opposes it?
