Scottie Pippen put forth his version of "The Last Dance."
Pippen, who recently released a book called "Unguarded," went after former teammate and NBA icon Michael Jordan, saying that he "ruined the game of basketball" in an excerpt from the book, which was shared by Hypebeast.
"I may go as far to say Mike ruined basketball," Pippen said. "In the 80s on the playgrounds, you’d have everyone moving the ball around — passing to help the team. That stopped in the 90s. Kids wanted to be ‘Like Mike.’ Well, Mike didn’t want to pass — didn’t want to rebound, or defend the best player. He wanted everything done for him."
"That’s why I always believed LeBron James was the greatest player this game has ever seen — he does everything and embodies what the game is truly about."
NBA legend Charles Barkley made a recent appearance on "The Dan Patrick Show" to discuss Pippen’s recent comments about Jordan and those 90s Bulls teams. Barkley took a shot at Pippen, saying that he’s just trying to do one thing.
"Scottie’s just trying to sell books," Barkley said.

Doesn’t he have a friend who can tell him when to shut up?
Pippen was a great defensive player. Unfortunately, he’s even more defensive off the court.
I think the 3-point shot is what killed basketball. Anybody can become a good 3-point shooter with enough practice, but the art of threading a pass for an easy layup takes much more skill.
Yep, Dr. J changed the game probably more than any other player.
Also Pippen is wrong looking at this website Jordan ranks third all time in rebounds per game for shooting guards. Jordan was always known as a good rebounder for his position during his playing days.
One thing to note this website isn’t counting Jordan’s two years with the Wizards. Only changes his average by .10.
I really like baketball and it’s a shame the sport sucks now. I’m just glad, I was able to watch in the 80’s and 90’s.

You bring up a valid point (’English Premier League soccer’).
I flew into Nashville around six years ago, and had a young Hispanic bus driver to get me to a local hotel. We had to wait 30 minutes and oddly enough...a conversation started up over the German soccer league. He actually tracked two different German teams and regularly watched their games. So I asked what sports in the Hispanic community were hyped? Soccer easily lead the way....the NFL and NBA were at the bottom.
Just like many of us kids damaged our toes and feet after Texas A&M/Eagles barefoot placekicker Tony Franklin hit a 59-yard FG against Dallas.
No kidding...I watched Larry Bird come down the right side of the court on a fast break with just a few defenders, and one of his team mates was on the other side of the court...
At a dead run, Bird fired one of those steaming long one-bounce passes to his teammate on the other side of the court, but...he applied just the right amount of spin that it went right around the defender at that flat, straight trajectory, hit the floor, bounced up at a different angle seeming to pick up velocity in doing so, and hit the guy running full speed down the other side right in his hands.
You are right. The amount of skill it took for guys like that is astonishing.
Me too. The Dream Team…..
Those were the days…
Memories….
Was this the game where Rodman said to Ewing, “ Hey Patrick, the Postman don’t deliver on Sunday”? It was a Sunday night, right before Ewing shot a free throw, and missed it. I laughed my butt off😂
** Dr. J changed the game probably more than any other player. **
Probably Wilt. Wilt caused at least 4 rule changes in the pros.
- Dunking Free Throws banned - Wilt would jump from behind the free-throw line and slam the ball through the basket before his feet touched the ground. Nobody has documented that he ever used it in a game, but Tex Winter was chairman of the Coaches Rules Recommendation Committee and saw Wilt do it in practice. Winter is the one who got the rule changed before Wilt could use it in a game.
Rules change where you must be behind the free-throw line until the ball hits the rim or passes through the basket. NCAA rule changed then adopted by NBA
- Wilt caused the NBA to widen the lane area from 12 feet to 16
- Wilt caused the offensive goaltending (no touch when the ball is within the cylinder) rule.
- Wilt caused the ban of an inbound pass over the backboard. NCAA rule changed then adopted by NBA
So Scottie? How many rings would you have right now if it were not for Michael Jordan? That’s right, one. And it wouldn’t be on your finger - it would be on the bathtub.
It's LeChina James and his fellow woketards that have ruined basketball.
Scottie still has butthurt over his bankruptcy and wants to sell books so he can fix his car up to pass inspection.
Jordan was all defense team 9 times and defensive player of the year once, averaged over 5 assist per game and 6 rebounds a game. Talk about sour grapes
Anybody remember Jordan’s first 3 - 4 years in the league? Gaudy stats but the Bulls couldn’t seem to figure out the best way to use him until they got to a coach who basically decided to unshackle him.
There were other factors at play, of course. The dominance of Detroit. The continuing play of the Lakers & Celtics. These were obstacles to the emergence of that Bulls team as well.
Michael Jordan carried those bulls teams on his shoulders.
Pippen ‘looked’ good becasue he played with Jordan
Jordan took a break from basketball. The team looked to Pippen. Pippen failed
Pippen is a bitter no talent
Excellent point.
