Scottie Pippen put forth his version of "The Last Dance."
Pippen, who recently released a book called "Unguarded," went after former teammate and NBA icon Michael Jordan, saying that he "ruined the game of basketball" in an excerpt from the book, which was shared by Hypebeast.
"I may go as far to say Mike ruined basketball," Pippen said. "In the 80s on the playgrounds, you’d have everyone moving the ball around — passing to help the team. That stopped in the 90s. Kids wanted to be ‘Like Mike.’ Well, Mike didn’t want to pass — didn’t want to rebound, or defend the best player. He wanted everything done for him."
"That’s why I always believed LeBron James was the greatest player this game has ever seen — he does everything and embodies what the game is truly about."
NBA legend Charles Barkley made a recent appearance on "The Dan Patrick Show" to discuss Pippen’s recent comments about Jordan and those 90s Bulls teams. Barkley took a shot at Pippen, saying that he’s just trying to do one thing.
"Scottie’s just trying to sell books," Barkley said.

LOL!!!!!!
Well no tippin’ Pippen- At least Michael Jordan did not sit out and pout at the critical end of a playoff game-

Hey Scottie, nobody wears “Air Pippens” and they ain’t gonna buy your book either!
Low class, no respect to da hood mentality that La Bron have.
Pippen is the Sulu to Jordans Captain Kirk.
Back in June, he said Phil Jackson was racist.
Dr J has to be up there sonewhere...
Speaking of such, around 10 years ago, they replaced an entire school lot (and a big one at that) that was dedicated for basketball and softball with a soccer pitch.
Wrong…Rodman was the best rebounder.
“Jordan was the only reason I ever watched roundball.”
Not me. Well, actually I enjoyed it when Rodman pushed Pippen in the playoff and got their asses kicked by the Pistons.
“I don’t care, I still loved my “Bad Boys” Pistons teams.”
Same here. The reason why Laimbeer isn’t in the HOF is due to politics. But Isiah did it to himself by apologizing for being an asshole on the court after he retired. It was pathetic. Laimbeer wont apologize for what he did. That I respect.
Nnnaahhh...sorry Scottie. Michael was the George S. Patton of basketball. Patton brilliantly killed nazis...period. Michael brilliantly put the ball thru the hoop...period! Any questions?
Did Rodman ever have 55 rebounds in a game? Did he average over 20 rebounds in his career? How about in a single season? The answer is no to all of those. Wilt’s career average was 22.9 per game. Highest season was 27.2.
Anyone who thinks Rodman was a better rebounder knows nothing about basketball.
Almost last in his class.
I was a Celtics fan at the time, and boy, oh boy, did our teams have some heated basketball games back then or what?
I will say this: there may be something to what Scotty Pippin said.
For me, the Michael Jordan Era was the dividing line between Basketball Then and Basketball Now.
Something changed, I think it was defensive basketball just completely left the league, and it was ALL about scoring after that. Sure, there was still defense, but back then, it seemed like MAD, no holds barred, defense.
Funny. I used to be a huge hockey fan, and I stopped watching both Basketball and Hockey around the same time, in the Nineties.
I stopped watching hockey, because the clutching and grabbing trap game became excruciating to watch.
I stopped watching basketball because the up and down the floor scoring became completely boring. The last game I ever went to at Boston Garden in 1994 when Robert Parish was the last one there, but the game had already changed. Watching that game, it was like watching a ping pong match. Up the floor...score. Down the floor...score. Up the floor...score.
Sigh. I enjoyed watching basketball when players like Bird, McHale, Laimbeer and Rodman would go at each other in a game with hammer and tongs. How those teams and players seemed to hate each other, and as a fan...who wanted it any other way!
Very hard to compare eras. That goes across nfl, nba, etc. Greats are greats. Wilt and Dennis were great.
If it wasn’t for Michael Jordan no one would even remember the name Scottie Pippen.
That’s true. Naturally that favors Wilt, since there were fewer teams so each squad had a higher percentage of the best players. Plus Wilt played when there were better centers like Bill Russell, Nate Thurmond, Willis Reed, Kareem, Artis Gilmore, and Dave Cowens.
Despite the different eras Jordan is always considered the greatest player ever. The problem is most people think sports started in 1980. In no way shape or form can Rodman be considered a better rebounder than Wilt.
