Scottie Pippen put forth his version of "The Last Dance."
Pippen, who recently released a book called "Unguarded," went after former teammate and NBA icon Michael Jordan, saying that he "ruined the game of basketball" in an excerpt from the book, which was shared by Hypebeast.
"I may go as far to say Mike ruined basketball," Pippen said. "In the 80s on the playgrounds, you’d have everyone moving the ball around — passing to help the team. That stopped in the 90s. Kids wanted to be ‘Like Mike.’ Well, Mike didn’t want to pass — didn’t want to rebound, or defend the best player. He wanted everything done for him."
"That’s why I always believed LeBron James was the greatest player this game has ever seen — he does everything and embodies what the game is truly about."
NBA legend Charles Barkley made a recent appearance on "The Dan Patrick Show" to discuss Pippen’s recent comments about Jordan and those 90s Bulls teams. Barkley took a shot at Pippen, saying that he’s just trying to do one thing.
"Scottie’s just trying to sell books," Barkley said.

Man, does this guy have the biggest bunch of sour grapes or what?
Sour grapes?
Jordan was the only reason I ever watched roundball.
Jordan took six teams to NBA titles that would have struggled to reach .500 without him. James needed an all-star cast around him to win his titles. There is no comparison.
And Jordan was a fantastic defensive player.
And Floppin' Jimmy is the greatest Flopper-Crybaby around, too.
Uhh, does he remember that along with Jordan, those Bulls teams had the greatest rebounder in NBA History with Dennis Rodman?

MJ is head and shoulders above Labron in every way. How Scottie puts him above MJ, “embodies what the game is truly about” is ridiculous. The game is about teamwork, excellence, role model - none of that describes BLMLabron.
LeBron James, no Michael Jordan https://t.co/6NipKHeGnb— Mark R. Levin (@marklevinshow) November 24, 2019
Now I think it has lost its popularity with mainstream America. It will become a niche sport in urban areas. With the exploding Hispanic population in USA, we will probably have more people watching English Premier League than NBA in a decade or two.
This from a guy who refused to play the final 1.8 seconds of a playoff game because the coach Phil Jackson drew the play up for Tony Kukoc to take the last shot. Pippen was pouting and didn’t want to be involved with the play. Well, Jackson refused to change the play and Kukoc made the game winning shot.

I don't care, I still loved my "Bad Boys" Pistons teams.
The greatest rebounder in NBA history was Wilt Chamberlain. Stick to topics you know, like soccer.
Makes me wonder how much Pippen was paid by China.
Same here. And I quit watching shortly after he retired for the second time.
But Rebounding was Rodman’s thing, Jordan knew to stay in his lane and let his teammates do what they do best.
thank you...
And? He simply wasn’t the greatest rebounder by any stretch. Like I said, stick to soccer.
Jordan retires Pippen and the Bulls fade, Jordan comes out of retirement, Bulls win the NBA? Hmmmm...? Jordan retires again and does anyone remember Pippen after that? I lived in Deerfield, IL when the Bulls trained at the Center there. We ran into most of them at stores and restaurants. Some of the kids went to school together. We rarely saw Jordan, but when we did see him he was always okay especially with kids. Pippen was rarely seen and when he was around he was so rude most people just avoided him. Hell even Dennis Rodman was more friendly than Pippen.
When I was a young kid in the early 90s, every kid knew who Michael Jordan was. It didn’t matter if you liked basketball or not.
