Jordan took six teams to NBA titles that would have struggled to reach .500 without him. James needed an all-star cast around him to win his titles. There is no comparison.

And Jordan was a fantastic defensive player.

Jordan retires Pippen and the Bulls fade, Jordan comes out of retirement, Bulls win the NBA? Hmmmm...? Jordan retires again and does anyone remember Pippen after that? I lived in Deerfield, IL when the Bulls trained at the Center there. We ran into most of them at stores and restaurants. Some of the kids went to school together. We rarely saw Jordan, but when we did see him he was always okay especially with kids. Pippen was rarely seen and when he was around he was so rude most people just avoided him. Hell even Dennis Rodman was more friendly than Pippen.

I am a nominal Lakers fan because of Wilt Chamberlain and Jerry West, but you are absolutely correct. Whatever formula means winning games, you go with it. I could understand Ty Cobb hating Babe Ruth for bringing the long ball into a dominance in baseball compared to his era . . . but they were on different teams!
Scotty Pippin can make a LOT more money as Jordan's right hand man than he can from a catty gossip book that burns bridges with perhaps the most astute living businessman who had been an athlete.
