Whatever Happened to Trump Being Restored to the White House This Year?
Townhall.com ^ | November 15, 2021 | Michael Brown

Posted on 11/15/2021 4:02:23 AM PST by Kaslin

The purpose of this article is not to mock, ridicule, or insult. Nor am I here to gloat or say, “I told you so.” Instead, I want to make a simple, two-fold appeal: First, can we be realistic and recognize that Trump will not be restored to the White House by some kind of military act or miraculous event (other than simply running again in 2024)? Second, can we be mature enough to acknowledge our errors, learn from our mistakes, and move on? In short, can we make this a teachable moment?

When I announced on the radio on January 6th that Trump would not be returning to the White House (meaning, without being reelected in the future), the response from many was outrage. I was a traitor. I had given up the cause. I was like one of the ten Israelite spies who brought back an evil report (in contrast with Joshua and Caleb, who believed in God's report). I was a Never Trumper. I was bought out by the Deep State. I was a Communist infiltrator.

You get the drift.

The truth be told, as a Trump voter in 2016 and 2020, I was privately hoping that the prophecies of his restoration to the White House were true and that the courts would find massive voter fraud, overturning the elections.

But at a prayer retreat in Texas in early December, it became totally clear to me that this would not happen. I simply knew that I knew that this was the case, and I knew Joe Biden would be inaugurated on January 20th.

After that, I was simply waiting for the right moment on my radio show to share this publicly, wanting to extend a safety net to the many whose faith would be shattered when Biden, rather than Trump, was installed as president.

Unfortunately, even after January 20th, many remained in denial.

Some set new dates (after guaranteeing that Biden would never serve as our president). "You watch and see what will happen in March. Make that April. Actually, August. I mean September."

Others concocted convoluted, hyper-spiritual theories, allegedly received by divine revelation. "Actually, Trump is our president, enthroned by God in heaven. Biden has no real presidential authority."

Still, others said, "The prophets were right and Trump did win the election. That's why we need to continue to fight for him to be reinstated. We can never accept the steal, and Biden will never be our president."

The fact is that, whether there was fraud or not, Joe Biden is our president, as recognized by our Congress and courts.

As for Trump, he is not our president, and he is not going to be miraculously restored to the White House any time soon. (Again, this is apart from him potentially running in 2024.)

Can we finally admit that this is the case and move on? Or will we be setting dates for the military to remove Biden in 2022 (or 2023), in keeping with yet another conspiratorial fantasy? I certainly hope we will not.

All of us can mistakes. All of us can be wrong about our prognostications. All of us can misjudge a situation. And all of us can have faulty "sources" that, in the end, mislead us rather than inform us. And sometimes, to be brutally honest, we just get conned.

The problem is when we can't admit that and learn from our mistakes. The problem is when, as leaders in particular, we cannot acknowledge that our errors have led others into error. The problem is when we blameshift or even misdirect, being more concerned with rallying our base rather than admitting our guilt.

In this regard, a typical tactic would be to attack the messenger, in this case, accusing me of being weak. Or a RINO (I'm actually a registered Independent who votes Republican, based on conservative principles rather than party affiliation). Or approving of abortion (as if recognizing Biden as president makes me guilty of shedding innocent blood). Or lacking in faith. Or being unspiritual. Or whatever.

But that's the least of my concerns. In fact, it is not my concern at all, since I'm not writing this to gain popularity or support.

To the contrary, as the risk of alienating some readers, my only concern is that those who were deceived or misled or misinformed would come to grips with reality, learn from their mistakes, and come out as better men and women for it. As for those leaders who misled or misinformed others, now would be a good time to say, "It looks like I was wrong, and I apologize for speaking falsely and getting your hopes up for nothing. I intend to learn from this and not repeat such errors."

And how will the Lord respond? As the Word says, He opposes the proud but gives grace to the humble.

So, where the shoe fits, get low and receive grace. God also lifts up the humble.

>>Then you werent reading FR. I saw plenty of people who believed it and actually mocked and ridiculed those of us who thought it was nonsense

Yep, if it wasn’t seen by someone, its because they weren’t paying any attention.

There is a whole crowd of very vocal conspiracy theorists here on FR - either because they are actually crazy/ignorant, or they are actors being paid, or volunteering, to come to conservative sites generally disrupt any intelligent discussion and make all republicans look stupid by planting outlandish stories and conspiracies theories or very easily disproven ‘facts’.

But that is social media i na nutshell, and it’s not going to get any better.

I know someone who was and still is “all in” with this belief and with Q-anonsense. During the dark weeks between the election and inauguration, he kept moving the goal posts. Regularly sent me crap about how there was going to be martial law in the country, people were going down, etc.

One of his more recent rants went something like this-

“Trump is touting the vaccines because Democrats forced his hand. He knows the vaccines are bad, but he gave them what they wanted. Now they are forcing the vaccines on everyone and people are dying. He’s just letting this all play out. Once everyone sees how many people have died from the vaccines, they will see Biden is bad and Trump will get back in there. He’s just letting it all play out.”

Just. WTF?!

I’m not sure “perfected” is quite the right word.
The stolen presidential election was far from seamless.
Although, obviously they did get away with it.

Sort of like someone stealing your car and the criminal is driving it around day after day.
You’ve reported to the authorities.
You’ve even told them where the car thief is.
But the police do nothing about it.

Probably a mixture of those classifications here.

I still laugh over the clown that said I was just jealous of Sidney Powell because I didnt believe things like her CIA Germany server shoot out BS propaganda. I think General Mac was a big pusher of that story

Writer picks a weird item (one remedy that is “complicated” to say the least) to expand on.

Does he believe the vote error was large enough to turn the outcome in any state? To render the outcome in any state in doubt? Regardless of his answers to those, what does he think the discussion should be, on the subject?

Some here make the following rationale - because Trump can’t be reinstated (various detailed legal reasons usually offered), there is no sense to make an effort and correct the call post mortem.

Trump will not fight. He lacks the will.

If he can’t make a deal, he loses.

He can’t deal. He continues to lose

The hubris is strong with this one too, we are to be humble and learn, while he gets his prayer revelations and “announces” (his words) that Biden will be president.

Some people cling to the idea that everything that happens is somehow God’s will, which flies in the face of both original sin and free will, how can everything bad that happens be God’s will, it is just a basic misunderstanding of the actual situation, that another entity is in charge of this world for the time being, and that God is coming at some point to set things right. That is inconsistent with a concept that everything bad happening under that other entity’s limited control is also God’s will. Either God is ruling and His will is being done, or He is not ruling and His will is not being done.

I suppose there may also be some justification for thinking that in the grand scheme of things, God may have more important things to do than to settle political arguments between the sort of good and the sort of bad, He does seem more likely to get involved if you’re up against a Hitler or a Stalin. But the way these people are going, they are pushing into that domain so maybe it’s in our favor that evil prevails, it might get some attention as there are clearly a lot of other things on the to do list.

Oh, I don’t doubt there are people who believed it...just nobody I could find face to face who would admit it!

I definitely have a very different assessment process for what people say online and what people say in person.

When I see someone say it online, I read it, sip my coffee, and say “Well, there’s that...” Heh, electrons are cheap.

When I am discussing something across a table with a relative or acquaintance and I hear them say something like that, I put my coffee down and say “Really? Tell me more...”

I for one never believed Trump would be “placed” back in the WH although I believe without reservation the election was stolen.

I also don’t believe any of us should “get over it” or “move on”.

On the other hand there are people around here convinced that Trump is still president and running the show. He's allowing Biden to appear to be president to further some sort of goal; let people see how bad things could be or something like that.

Did I miss anything, Ms. GG2?

What a stupid straw man idea. We ought to hope that he is NOT returned to the WH this year. Why should he be? To spend half a year fixing the mess Biden has made and facing mid-term elections before he’s even finished transitioning? He should be reelected in 2024, with majorities in both houses, and a thoroughly cowed and chastened DNC just shutting up and sucking it up (OK. That won’t happen. They don’t do cowed and chastened, or shut up). It’s fortunate that the Constitution makes no such provision. Until 2022, it’s up to the People to stop this treasonous puppet presidency before it destroys America. After that, it’ll still be up to the People, but hopefully with a helpful Congress at their backs.

I don’t dump on anybody for believing that Trump would somehow find a way through to the White House because the alternative is clearly odious and our inherent sense of right and wrong demands that the abomination not stand. Most but maybe not all who thought Trump would prevail were probably of a strong religious faith (as the subject of this thread claims to be). It makes sense to me that if you believe God is in control of all things that He would almost automatically get rid of Biden, but the problem is, God is not in control of all things on earth, just in heaven.

Jesus taught us to pray that God’s will be done on earth “as it is in heaven.” But Jesus did not say “God’s will is going to be done on earth, trust me,” otherwise why would these words need to be inserted into a prayer? Of course some of God’s will is done on earth, that by people of faith. Also Satan’s will is done on earth, some also by misguided people of faith.

I can’t see how it would be wrong or foolish to believe that God might act, especially as many people were probably praying that He would act. However, Biblical prophecy is fairly clear that appointed times and places lie ahead and that bad things happen until we get there. So at the same time nobody should be surprised that this bad thing is happening. Just pray without ceasing until it does come to a merciful end. This is all we can do.

Q Anon is very likely a sincere person who is trying to “egg on” a just solution, with the thought process being that if enough of us believe something to be true, it will somehow become real. It’s a field of dreams sort of concept, easy to mock or ridicule but also part of the concept of reaching for the stars. It’s a duality, the more evil the opponent becomes, the more refined is our goodness in suffering that evil. Those without faith cannot understand this. Those with faith have always lived this reality.

"God works in mysterious ways." The notion that what doesn't lkill you, makes you stronger, has a spiritual side too. Uncomfortable times have a way of changing what and how people think, and even what they believe in.
