Who would have thought there's that type action in the UP?

More cougar sightings are being confirmed in Michigan, although wildlife officials aren’t certain yet whether that means more of the animals are reclaiming the area as their home. Maybe Lyme Disease or COVID will get 'em.

She’s only pretending to be taking a nap.
It’s a trap! First man who touches her...gets it!

Mountain lion spotted about a half mile from my hunting camp by a trusted source in the southern tier of NY. Despite what the DEC says is impossible

Sure it was a cougar? Quickest way to identify them now is to look for the smallpox ring on their shoulder...

Amen. That looks like it’s near Houghton Lake, though...not the UP. We’ve got a lot of those ‘round here too.

already back when cougars were still supposedly extinct in Wisconsin, the cougars that were appearing in the NE corner like Pembine seemed to be rumored/sighted coming down from the North.
I think somewhere along the line a few cut across Northern Wisconsin and formed a breeding group in the UP that disseminated from there and this is just the DNR now verifying a larger number of the sightings that were previously “misidentifications” or the population is now large enough that the sightings are much more frequent and cant be denied.

Lots of cougars in FL.
S. Beach and Dania beach have the highest population.
Biscayne bay is up there too.
