More cougar sightings are being confirmed in Michigan, although wildlife officials aren’t certain yet whether that means more of the animals are reclaiming the area as their home. Maybe Lyme Disease or COVID will get 'em.

Meh.
We have been seeing them for years up there.
Anyone goes to La Branch and stops at the La Branch tavern for a rib eye steak, ask them to show you the photo of the black panther they took there.
BTW, the DNR will deny farmers claims of the big cats making kills on their cattle.

There was a kerfuffle in Connecticut some years ago. The DEEP claimed that there are no cougars in CT.
Mountain lion killed in Connecticut prowled east from S. Dakota, setting off tremendous back and forth from those who have sighted them.
At that time, a friend was building his house on Avon mountain, in a wooded area. This cat ran through his yard, with a radio collar on it.
