Two 16-year-old Iowa schoolboys have been charged with murdering their Spanish teacher, after one of them bragged about it on social media, according to a criminal complaint.
The body of Fairfield High School teacher Nohema Graber, 66, was found dumped in a park Tuesday hours after she was first reported missing, according to officials.
Her body had been hidden “under a tarp, wheelbarrow and railroad ties” after she appeared to have been killed by “trauma to the head,” court records show.
Officials have not speculated on a possible motive, or given details on what the teens allegedly discussed in the social media messages.
Jefferson County Attorney Chauncey Moulding told the Des Moines Register that there was no evidence suggesting it was racially motivated, but promised his office would “absolutely follow the evidence.”

Teacher was Mexican (which could mean of Spanish heritage, or Mexican Indian, or mixture), accused are white.
uhhh.... women get married. And take their husbands names.
He is a better man than me. If someone had murdered my mother I would want to at least return the favor.
Her son, Christian, insisted in a Facebook message Thursday that he had already forgiven the teens accused of murdering “an angel of a woman” who was “one of the kindest souls.”
“I forgive them and feel sorry that they had that anger in their hearts. There’s no point in being angry at them. We should hope that they can find peace in their lives,” he wrote.
His sister, Nohema Marie Graber, agreed, saying, “It is clear that they need more love and light in their hearts.“
Fairfield Iowa is home to the Maharishi School of Management. A significant portion of the town are into TM and eastern religious practices. I’ve been there several times. The commentary by the victim’s children sounds like they’re TM’ers.
Thanks. Interesting point.
Wow, those two boys really didn’t like Spanish!
They are punks. They need to fry.
They can forgive all they want, these perps still need to be locked up for about 75 years with no chance of parole. Maybe they can visit in Ft. Madison and talk about how forgiven they are.
I’m all for Christian forgiveness, but this is just bizarre.
God presents two positions on forgiveness. A little like always correct a fool and never correct a fool.
One version is forgive, the other is forgive if they repent. I generally prefer the latter when giving forgiveness, and the former when receiving...........
I’m more of “an eye for an eye” type person. Maybe forgive first if there’s true repentance, but justice must be served, too.
Can you please share where you found this in the Bible?
“ Well, given the teacher was white, and the County Attorney felt the need to say it was NOT racially motivated, you can pretty much assume both teenagers are black and it WAS racially motivated. ”
Not at all.
She was a great American immigrant success story.
Was trained as a commercial pilot before coming here from Mexico .
Married a Iowa guy, they had two good kids.
The two punks that killed her were white kids.
It appears the killers were just evil predators .
No need to hang any racial stereotypes on this one.
Evil simply just had its day
Give them a nice public hanging and then let the Good Lord forgive them. Punks.
Luk_17:4 Even if that person wrongs you seven times a day and each time turns again and asks forgiveness, you must forgive.”
Well there is the one associating repentance with forgiveness.
I will let you do your own much more meaningful research on the forgive in general.
My personal thoughts are that forgiveness is COMPLETE when there is repentance. But sometimes you don’t get completeness, so do your end whether it is repentance or forgiveness.
but justice must be served, too.
““They just murdered my Mom in cold blood? All they need is lurve. Hope they find the peace they need.”
Perhaps, they wrote this on a lawyers advice? All the better to ask for justice, rather than vengeance?
Reasonable. Thanks.
The Parable of the Unforgiving Servant
Mat 18:21 Then Peter came to Him and asked, “Lord, how often should I forgive someone who sins against me? Seven times?”
Mat 18:22 “No, not seven times,” Jesus replied, “but seventy times seven!
Most read that verse and think one must forgive and that is true. Including the family in the article.
But read it in context, there is more, the parable following the statement. Accounts must be brought in order. The debtor needs to be confronted to settle accounts.
The goal I think, is still completeness, especially with God. But the order does not matter, sometimes the forgiveness comes before the repentance. BUT WITHOUT BOTH THERE IS NO COMPLETENESS. The accounts are NOT settled.
Your thoughts?
