It's important to note that there's a difference between deleting your Facebook account and deactivating it. Deactivating your Facebook account temporarily freezes it... But that does nothing to prevent the company from tracking your online activity.
1. Delete the Facebook app from your phone and tablet
...
To fully separate from Facebook, deleting your account is the only answer. Deleting it also severs ties to Facebook Messenger, the platform's chat app. (If you want to also get rid of Instagram and WhatsApp, which are Facebook properties, you'll have to do that separately.)
3. Disconnect your Facebook account from other apps and logins
Third-party developers such as Spotify and DoorDash have long offered the option of using your Facebook account as a way to sign up and log in to their services. It's convenient because it keeps you from having to remember yet another password. That is, until you don't have a Facebook account anymore. 4. Finally, it's time to delete your Facebook account
Facebook will give you a list of tasks and things to consider before deleting your account. For example, you'll be advised to download all of your information, or if you're the sole admin of a Facebook Page, you'll be asked to grant another account admin privileges. Otherwise, the page will be deleted alongside your account.
Click Delete Account, enter your password and click Continue. Finally, click Delete Account again and you're done.

Never got on. So I’m good?
Facebook app, Instigram, FB messaging and Whatsapp.
All owned by FB and none are secure.

i always disable the facebook services on my android devices. Even if you’re not logged into it your presence is known. Disabling the services ostensibly severs that possibility.
Who knows if its still running in the background, though? I am not an android hacker and don’t jailbreak my phones. I don’t want a $1000 device, or even a $500 device suddenly not working because i have been fiddling with things...
Guess that could go on America's headstone:
FREEDOM WAS TOO INCONVENIENT

To a point, but a lot of websites have hidden 3rd party Facebook tracking scripts. These track you anyhow without your knowledge, permission, or ever being part of Facebook. Only way to stop this is with a script blocker.
Before I deleted my account, in 2017, I deleted every post I ever made, which wasn’t many.............🤑
I got rid of mine when Obama was put in office. Went through and individually deleted every post. Took hours.
Haven’t missed it, at all.
I hear that new hires at today’s companies are required to give the company full access to their accounts and if you don’t have a FB account, they don’t hire you.
Never had a facebook account.....Instagram or Twitter either for that matter and yet the sun comes up every day and my life goes on....what a concept eh?
I’m more proud of that fact today as ever.
You can download your files first too. All those pics you ever uploaded. I had such little activity that I was able to delete every post I ever made and all the pics, at least as far as I could see. I imagine they keep a copy of everything though.
Never had it. Never will.

You get it for free but the quality sucks. You have no say in how it works. The guy who runs it gets rich. There's no real competition. You have no privacy. And if you say one thing they don't like they'll shut you up. |

Yep. And same same for covid shots.
Wife has a Facebook account but she never post anything or replies to anyone and only see’s what the kids and grand kids are doing.
FB has been deleted on both phones but you can’t get rid of google on an android phone. All google apps are disabled as well as you tube, anything voice activated and all permissions are limited. Location is disabled except the weather apps and maps and they’re only allowed when the app is in use.
Computer cache and cookies are deleted after every exit from Firefox and Local and Local/Temp files are also deleted daily. No camera on the computer, voice commands have been disabled and microphone drivers disabled and cortana is disabled as well.
Anything WIN 10 app or privacy wise is disabled or removed.
TV’s have had all voice commands disabled (none have a camera) and we’ve opted out of the ACR crap.
Regardless I’m sure there’s a things that I’ve missed. Not paranoid just sick of all the intrusion.
