UK authorizes Merck antiviral pill, 1st shown to treat COVID

LONDON (AP) — Britain has granted a conditional authorization to Merck's coronavirus antiviral, the first pill shown to successfully treat COVID-19. It is the first country to OK the treatment, although it was not immediately clear how quickly the pill would be available.

The pill was licensed for adults 18 and older who have tested positive for COVID-19 and have at least one risk factor for developing severe disease, such as obesity or heart disease. The drug, known as molnupiravir, is intended to be taken twice a day for five days by people at home with mild to moderate COVID-19.

An antiviral pill that reduces symptoms and speeds recovery could prove groundbreaking, easing caseloads on hospitals and helping to curb outbreaks in poorer countries with fragile health systems. It would also bolster the two-pronged approach to the pandemic: treatment, by way of medication, and prevention, primarily through vaccinations.

Molnupiravir is also pending review at regulators in the U.S., the European Union and elsewhere. The U.S. Food and Drug Administration announced last month it would convene a panel of independent experts to scrutinize the pill's safety and effectiveness in late November.

Initial supplies will be limited. Merck has said it can produce 10 million treatment courses through the end of the year, but much of that supply has already been purchased by governments worldwide.

In October, U.K. officials announced they secured 480,000 courses of molnupiravir and expected thousands of vulnerable Britons to have access to the treatment this winter via a national study.

“Today is a historic day for our country, as the UK is now the first country in the world to approve an antiviral that can be taken at home for COVID-19," said Britain's health secretary, Sajid Javid.

Actually Fauci and the MSM are expected to support their co-collaborators at MERCK.

Since the 90's, the FDA, CDC, Fauci and NIH have been collaborating with pharmas - the staff at those US Agencies (which are funded by Bill Gates, Soros, pharmas etc.) are permitted to use US taxpayer dollars to create and test drugs, and then patent them privately in their own names, reaping millions.

Fauci has talked about a pill and how great it will be - I assume that means it will start 'accidentally' showing up in other prescription medicinse. THey are also excited about a nasal spray. Fauci talked about combining the flu vaccine with the Covid vax, even though we 'stopped having flu' in 2020. And now I keep hearing that people going for the flu 'vax' are accidentally receiving the Covid 'vaccine'. Now how did THAT happen?

So I expect those running the plandemic to welcome their buddies at Merck with open arms and help each other get rich pushing harmful drugs.

This drug was previously abandoned over safety concerns, as it was discovered to have mutagenic properties. There was even a whistle-blower.

“UK authorizes Merck antiviral pill, 1st shown to treat COVID”

Let me update the headline:

“UK authorizes Merck antiviral pill, 1st shown to treat COVID, while providing sufficient shareholder equity”

It is possible to work out the safety concerns and perfect the formula. I’m optimistic that they’ll demonize it.

Ivermectin, already proven - and cheap....
No profit for Fauci, though

Is it possible? Yes. In such a short time frame, and when alternatives already exist on the market with no such concerns? Probably not.

But Merck makes $700 per pill on molnupiravir and pennies on Ivermectin.

And Hydroxichloroquin protocol. Both of them have no current patents and are cheap, so they have to demonize them. Regeneron has a current patent, so they can exploit that. So maybe they’ll exploit Merck’s pill, too. In which case they’ll make it mandatory as a prophylactic.

plenty of natural anti virals - don’t need no bs pharmacy ones. merck just tyring to keep making a buck off the brainwashed.

I got the virus in the last week and after initial significant fever it anti so bad except the cough/upper respiratory part but using OTC vits herbal and LifeWave Glutathione, carnosine, aeon patches to clear out virus, etc.

Urgent care wouldn’t even see me til i quarantine 10 days- insane - it’ll be over by then from how it seems now. the blatant disregard for their profession of caring for people’s health is crystal clear. I don’t know how these workers justify their disregard for their profession and fellow humans. they sold their souls.

no need for zpak or any pharmacy crap. this has been a very freeing year to learn and now experience not much need for “medical” providers unless I break a bone or have other major need. ALL other symptoms/ailments/conditions God has given us herbals, naturals, vitamins and common sense to handle them.

Not surprising. The drug *promotes* mutation of the virus incorporating itself into the virus’s RNA resulting in a non-functional virus.

What prevents the drug from being incorporated into human RNA? What is the effect of this mutagenic drug long term?

Which is exactly why it was abandoned by the previous company. It was found to be damaging the DNA of the cells of the animals tested.

I would refuse to take this drug under all circumstances.

Me too.

For those tempted by this new wonderdrug: the DNA damage is not a side effect.

The introduction of copy errors is how Molnupiravir is supposed to work. It’s insane.

Disclaimer: this is sarcasm. The above dosages have a better track record than Molnupiravir's 50%

FReepers were way out ahead on this issue of early Covid treatments. Dr. Peter McCullough spoke about Favipiravir sometime back, an antiviral available in Japan. It was designed by the US Department of defense with MediVector Inc., and patented by Fujifilm Japan. It’s purpose ostensibly was for troops to use in case of native or bioengineered viruses.

Now Merck is pushing Molnupiravir and I’m not clear what the connection is but it’s interesting.
