“When I joined the Marine Corps, I was still a Jamaican. But this country had done so much for me, I was willing, willing, to die for this country,” Sears, a Marine veteran, told a boisterous crowd in Chantilly, Va., before leading them in a chant of “USA.”
“I’m telling you that what you are looking at is the American dream,” said Sears, a mother of three daughters.
Supporters linked to photos of Sears holding an assault-style weapon on social media on Election Day. Sears, a staunch supporter of Second Amendment gun rights, also used a photo of her holding a rifle on her campaign ads.
“Battle tested conservative. Semper Fi,” the ad said.
In an interview later Wednesday on “Fox & Friends,” Sears credited her “ragtag staff” for helping her secure the win.
She said the campaign had little money and was outspent, “outgunned, if you will.”

As a very serious suggestion, she should fill her staff with Marines. Modern military staff organization is very logical, and military people *understand* its efficiency. Thus its learning curve is much shorter.
The first US president to do that was Eisenhower, and the result was a harmonious, even boring administration on the surface, that was “working wonders and eating cucumbers” behind the scenes.

I would die for this country, too. I admire this Marine totally and admire her family for supporting her. I hope we see more of her and her family.
The reason we both hold the same views is due to our parents primarily. While my family did not come from another country (at least not in their generation) both families had suffered. Her dad understood what it takes to be a Marine and my whole family, has spent time and more than enough time, in our military supporting the nature of the military and its systems.
I love the USA, our Constitution and our Amendments, I love the people who love our country and will support the Constituion and die fighting for it.
I have absolutely no use for the politicians and no’er do wells who purport to be “god fearing citizens” who will not close our borders to prevent the fear driven denizens of other countries from over filling the USA without so much as a note about what their respective countries and why it is are no longer desirable to raise their children in that country
