My ultra liberal niece who lives in the DC beltway is finally starting to get the message. Still liberal but starting to understand the real world. My wife and I work n her everytime we vist. Starting to show cracks to conservatism ..maybe because she is getting older.
One of the women she works with who is black got the managers position even though she puts in less time and knows 1/2 what my niece does.
She rides the metro into work every day. My sister and bil who are liberal are also starting to come around and preach to her about her surroundings while waiting for the train. They are also becoming realist.

I'm a bit different. I make eye contact, and make sure they see me wrap my hand around my knife (of course they don't know what I'm holding, knife or gun or whatever). Works to make them avoid me. In regards to being aware of your surroundings, that's particularly important to avoid being sucker-punched.

I lived in NYC for 20 years and I never followed any of your rules and I still enjoyed my life then.

I've spent lots of time there, I live a few hours North. Spent lots of time around Wall Street and up to 38th I believe. Good friend live there for years working at the hospitals.
I agree with you on that. And the Dynic Trio in Georgia are about learn that the hard way. They should have let the guy alone. On FB the other day a mom showed a photo of her 9 year old son crying in the backseat of her car as she took him to get ice cream.

From watching Hollywood movies and TV you wouldn't realize it. Not until you're immersed in urban areas with feral blacks. I realized it when young after several beatdowns and robberies. Learned to protect myself.
Wish we had those barriers here. I often wondered whether such a thing could be installed. I’ve never been to those places. Just looked it up now, and I see now how they work.
