Did anyone else guess that this would happen...? Not that I mind - seeing actors mishandle guns in TV and movies is irritating. If you want to blame accidental shootings on anything, blame it on that.

Isn’t it amazing how we had westerns galore (both tv and movies) in the 60’s and innumerable crime shows and movies in thee 70’s without any of these types of incidents.
But those on the sets were likely veterans and had respect for guns.

Anything to help move along the demise of Hollywood is fine with me!
No guns in movies = no movies!

Of course this will/has lead to taking away guns completely.

Accidental? There was nothing accidental about it. If it wasn’t intentional, it was negligent.

One could certainly argue that safety on a movie set, just like safety in any other workplace,is important.

Liberals, like children, should never be allowed to play with guns unless supervised by a responsible adult.

I cannot fathom why real guns are ever allowed on a set. Surely some company somewhere should be able to make realistic replicas that cannot chamber a round.
And let special effects add the boom and the flash.

They are like feral dogs, they bite the stick that beats them rather than the hand holding the stick itself.
Lions are not like that.Hit a lion with a stick. It will tear the hand right off the offending arm.
Democrats are feral dogs, dumber than dirt.
Trump supporters are like lions, deplorable for cutting straight to the problems that plague us.
Will you vote for a Dog or a Lion? Who knows, but you have to decide beteen kibbles and raw meat.

They have been making movies with actors appearing to shoot guns since they have been making movies. The first movie with a plot -
The Great Train Robbery from 1903, even featured one of the robbers pointing at the camera and firing. There have been tons of westerns made since then, and 99.9% of them feature people with guns pointing them at other people and appearing to shoot them*. There are also many crime/film noir movies that feature actors appearing to shoot one another. AFAIK, the use of guns in those movies have not constituted a danger up to now. The safety practices on this Baldwin movie appear to have been incredibly slapdash if not completely nonexistent. OSHA should have shut the shoot down before anyone got hurt.
*I've seen lots of post by Freepers saying "never point a gun at someone unless you plan to shoot them". I guess those Freepers have never seen a western movie.

A) This shooting was not an accident, it was the result of user stupidity. Extremely few shootings reported as accidents actually are accidental. Stupidity is the number one reason for them. Or mishandling.
B) Baldwin ignored both of the most important 2 rules of firearm safety.
1 Always treat every firearm as if it were loaded.
If he had actually done that, 2 would not have been an issue.
2 Never point a firearm at another person.
C) Baldwin has a long history of screeching about gun control every time he gets a chance, what was he doing in the same damn COUNTY with gun? If he really believes what he says, we should not have guns, why was he making a movie with one in his hand? Hes a fraud. And an idiot. And a liar. Probably has armed security too.
This shooting was no accident, it was user stupidity and could have been easily prevented. He did not check the gun HIMSELF to be sure it was not loaded, that eliminates the accident idea. I don’t care if the armorer handed it to him and yelled “COLD GUN”, he still should check it himself...My father would have chewed me out big time if ANYONE ever handed me a gun and I did not check it immediately, MYSELF to be aure it was not loaded. When I was a kid he did chew me out when HE handed me a .22 rifle and I didn’t check it. He knew it was unloaded...but I didn’t. After 60 years handling guns, that is still a habit right now.
I know my .22 revolver is always loaded, I still checked it when I picked it up, to be sure it was actually loaded. Its useless unloaded if I spot an armadillo...and I’m sitting outside with the .22 beside me right now as I type. Armadillo, opossum and raccoon all causing problems, snakes still out, yeah I have it with me...

There have been thousands of western movies and tv shows with lots of shooting made without incident. It takes a moron like Alec Baldwin to do something like this. Is it possible he did it on purpose because he hates guns so much?

Alec Baldwin's accidental shooting incident leads to conversations about gun bans on movie, TV sets
How's about it leads to some ARRESTS? Let's save the conversation for the jailhouse.

I think Hollyweird should be made to use finger guns in all their movies. The lefty actors can make the pew pew sound to get their point across.
