We received a notice in the mail yesterday that as of the end of this month out Homeowners Insurance is being cancelled(State Farm). (I guess they don't really want you actually using it). Anyway we need to look for other Insurance. Please pray that we find the right agent/Insurance Company)(!
Prayers up!
Why are they cancelling it?
That’s a short notice. Did you call and ask for an explanation?
What about USAA?
https://www.usaa.com/inet/wc/insurance_home_condo?wa_ref=pub_global_insurance_property_homeowners
That isn’t very good or neighborly of them.
We got farmer’s insurance after state farm refused to pay out anything.
Ditto - good rates, too.
Allstate did that to us about ten years ago. We never used them for anything.......................
USAA is a good choice. Really need to know your location for more definitive help.
I thought they have to give you 30 days notice??
Are you in a floodzone or other area?? Pitbulls??
At my business we had a tree fall down and crush a clients car during a windstorm last month.
Two more huge trees were leaning on the parking lot and they were rotted out in the center. We recieved a letter saying in 30 days if we did not have those 2 trees cut down they would cancel our insurance.
We had the trees removed.
I’m sure you’ll find something. Maybe they are leaving the market. That happens.
Wife and I lost our health insurance a couple years ago in November. They said it was because our employer didn’t have enough employees enrolled. The trouble is, by law, the sign-up period for insurance starts in January. So for 2 months we couldn’t even get coverage.
The lawmakers and rule makers are complete morons.
I have North Star Mutual and pricing/coverage is very reasonable.
Of course, location, location, location, sets your premium.
I think you may have meant your post for the OP....US Navy Vet.
IF I was a US Navy Veteran I would have USAA as my insurance provider.
If not them, I would go with Amica.
I am with State Farm too. This is because we have a home based business. Amica would not insure our home if it also was being used as a business.
Amica if you can get it.
“The trouble is, by law, the sign-up period for insurance starts in January. So for 2 months we couldn’t even get coverage”
Someone gave you really bad information.
You had a “qualifying event”-losing coverage through no fault of your own.
Any insurance company in your area that sells individual coverage has to pick you up the day you lost coverage with no medical questions and no pre- existing or waiting period.
This is a federal law and applies to all 50 states.
I work in the health insurance industry.
If what you say is true, then the insurance companies and brokers did give us bad information. We had to switch from an employer plan to individual plan - a lot more money.
I'm a smart dude, but that stuff just baffles me - I'll be prayin'
We have had USAA for more than 50 years and highly recommend it! :-)
Since you are a retied Vet., look into USAA. They won’t insure either mobile or manufactured homes though.
