Kyrsten Sinema takes thousands in campaign contributions from pharmaceutical giants while stalling prescription drug pricing reforms

Sen. Kyrsten Sinema of Arizona is said to be opposed to the current prescription drug pricing proposals in bills put forth by both the House and Senate, as well as an alternative from House centrists that would limit the drugs subject to Medicare negotiation, according to unnamed sources cited by Politico.

Sinema's stance has stalled the passage of the $3.5 trillion spending bill crafted by the Biden administration and fellow Democrats, even though it could jeopardize her own bipartisan infrastructure bill. Democratic Rep. Pramila Jayapal of Washington has previously said the majority of the Congressional Progressive Caucus, which she chairs, would not vote for Sinema's infrastructure bill without first passing the spending package.

If passed, the $3.5 trillion spending bill would lower the cost of certain prescription drugs by instituting reforms and allowing Medicare to negotiate prices, which would save the federal government "hundreds of billions" on health care spending, according to a memo for Democratic senators.

There are just too many people on the wrong side. It seems impossible to talk values to people who only value themselves.

All through my life there have been those who would take a dollar to look away. James Carville was right when he said you never know what you’ll get when you drag a dollar through a trailer park. Some trailer parks look like mansions but the people are all the same no matter which end of the spectrum is visible.

People making laws about investing and about corporate expenditures are allowed to invest personal money in corporations and we the people let it go

Chairman of the fed reserve last week pulled shares the day before a huge bad report

We let this go

Check out the reporter-ette.

Barely out of high school.

She’s learning to write political hit pieces for the Deep State.

Soros et al. have definitely given the media the green light to “get” Sinema and Manchin. I’ve seen nothing but negative articles about them in the past few weeks.

All of these attacks on Sinema by the left are just thinly-veiled anti-LGBT bigotry.

Yea, funnel money through third party donors linked to special interest groups, then tag them as tools of the industry.

Having spent the last week in AZ on vacation, I couldn't turn on the idiot box (TV) to see the local weather in the evenings without being bombarded by anti-Sinema ads talking about her taking big bucks from big pharma.

The progressive left is definitely out to get her.

That’s easy. They want that $3.5 trillion dollar spending bill approved and she is one of the ones holding it up.

No defense of Sinema but, how many senators have not taken contributions from Big Pharma?

Beuller? Beuller? Brandon?

If Big Pharma doesn’t like it, then they can just not give her contributions in the future. The so-called Medicare reforms in the bill are just one of many items. Nothing says a politician is obligated to bankrupt the country overall just because you gave them money. I think on this one issue (the budget) at least (she is still problematic in my book when it comes to abortion and other moral issues) she seems to be so far sticking to her guns. We’ll see.

This simply isn't true and it is not the reason why Synema opposes the larger $3.5T bill.

The truth is that there are 10 other Dem Senators who oppose it but are happy with Manchin and Synema taking all the arrows for them. If this passes it'll be time to break out the wheelbarrows and load it up with devalued currency to buy a loaf a bread.

It also puts to lie this ridiculous notion of bipartisanship and compromise.
