A 29-year-old man accused of trying to strangle an 11-year-old girl in a Manhattan park was arraigned and released on $7,500 bail on Saturday night.

Nathaniel Direnzo, of Saint Marks Place, was arrested on Saturday morning for a bizarre, broad-daylight attack on the young girl and another minor on Wednesday afternoon.

The assault happened around noon at Stuyvesant Square Park, located at Perlman Place and East 16th Street, and apparently stemmed from a dispute between pet owners at a dog park and the students who use the park for recess.

Authorities say the girl was at the park with her classmates when one of the dog owners approached her and began to yell at them for throwing popping objects that may have been scaring the dogs.

man that’s not the story i read on the Daily Mail.
He’s a dogwalker, bad kids were terrorizing the dogs at the dog park, he yelled rude things and went to hit her, but i did not read anything about strangulation.
Huge 11 year old throwing dirt and noise makers at the dogs and people in the dog park could not be contained by her ‘chaperone”.
