The ball python was removed Wednesday from the Herrick Lake Forest Preserve in Wheaton after a woman who had been walking at the preserve noticed a large snake under her car and called police.

There are advantages to the cold midwest winters.
Not at all fond of large African snakes...probably would not even eat any of the many skunks?
Herrick Lake? Not far at all.
Where is Samuel L Jackson when we need him?
L
Lightfoot taking a walk???
Non venomous, beautiful colors as far as Snakes go.
"Barack Hussein Obama." -> "I'm a snake, a bush cobra."
Pet store snake. Likely got out of someones cage.
Ball pythons are common pets. Not dangerous and pretty mellow.
But what do they eat? Could they be a problem for local wildlife or pets?
Bill Ayres was there too, so it's not so much a mystery.
Snakes tend to look for their own kind. A den of vipers so to speak. Chicago seems about right.
Bill Ayres was raised in Glen Ellyn Il a mile or two over.
My 12-year old niece has a ball python as a pet. It is very tame and gentle.
And Zebras are running around in Maryland!
What’s gonna happen next?
Why would you call the police for a snake? Never heard of animal control?

Forest Preserve Police, AKA tree hugger cops.
They have a full-time biologist, snake people probably more than a few that would enjoy taking this call...
As far as beautiful snakes go, how about the Blue Viper (but admire him from a distance)?
Irresponsibly keeping exotic animals is a big problem.
The (surviving) Zebras seem to be keeping to themselves and not causing any trouble - and people are feeding them.
I’m not sure what I think about the people behind the ‘Save the Zebras Foundation’; but at least they’re helping:
(Zebras aren’t like horses; I don’t understand why the County or State hasn’t done more to try and track and tranq these girls and transport them to safe and secure housing.)
That said your photo was of a fine-looking creature.
