Facebook has changed its rules to make journalists a protected class shielded from "bullying" and "harassment" (aka criticism), according to a report from Reuters.
From Reuters, "EXCLUSIVE Facebook to change rules on attacking public figures on its platform": Facebook Inc will now count activists and journalists as "involuntary" public figures and so increase protections against harassment and bullying targeted at these groups, its global safety chief said in an interview this week.
The social media company, which allows more critical commentary of public figures than of private individuals, is changing its approach on the harassment of journalists and "human rights defenders," who it says are in the public eye due to their work rather than their public personas. This means journos can smear people all over the media and then be shielded from criticism -- which they call "bullying" and "harassment."

Most who think they are journalists today are actually ‘urinalists’ and take a **** all over the Constitution daily.

Dear Facebook,
Is Joe Rogan a journalist?
Sincerely,
Curious
Does that mean you can use the lavatory at CNN?
I have a podcast. So if Joe Rogan is a journalist, so am I.
I don’t see why not.
You and Rogan are probably more professional and less biased than what Journalists call journalist.
“Facebook has changed its rules to make (DEMOCRAT) journalists a protected class shielded from “bullying” and “harassment” (aka criticism), according to a report from Reuters.”

BRANZBURG v. HAYES
"We are asked to create another by interpreting the First Amendment to grant newsmen a testimonial privilege that other citizens do not enjoy. This we decline to do."
"We are unwilling to embark the judiciary on a long and difficult journey to such an uncertain destination. The administration of a constitutional newsman's privilege would present practical and conceptual difficulties of a high order. Sooner or later, it would be necessary to define those categories of newsmen who qualified for the privilege, a questionable procedure in light of the traditional doctrine that liberty of the press is the right of the lonely pamphleteer who uses carbon paper or a mimeograph just as much as of the large metropolitan publisher who utilizes the latest photocomposition methods."
We are all “Je suis Charlie”.
With this protected designation , can the be liablled or defamed?
Asking for a friend.
