Facebook has changed its rules to make journalists a protected class shielded from "bullying" and "harassment" (aka criticism), according to a report from Reuters.
From Reuters, "EXCLUSIVE Facebook to change rules on attacking public figures on its platform": Facebook Inc will now count activists and journalists as "involuntary" public figures and so increase protections against harassment and bullying targeted at these groups, its global safety chief said in an interview this week.
The social media company, which allows more critical commentary of public figures than of private individuals, is changing its approach on the harassment of journalists and "human rights defenders," who it says are in the public eye due to their work rather than their public personas. This means journos can smear people all over the media and then be shielded from criticism -- which they call "bullying" and "harassment."

Since journalists are just regurgitating what the leftists tell them, this effectively means you cannot question a leftist politician on Facebook.

The right of a free press is the right to publish. The "press" was literally the machine, the printing press, not the class of people self-identified as "the press."
The term "the press" didn't refer to periodicals until the 1820s, and didn't refer to reporters until the 1920s. Before then, it was the right of the people to own printing presses and distribute their thoughts and opinions more widely than the reach of free speech in the town square.
