An Ithaca man was charged Thursday after he was accused of producing three sexually explicit videos with a 10-year-old child, federal prosecutors said.
Remanu Phillips, 31, appeared in federal court on charges that he sexually exploited a child, according to a news release issued by the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Northern District of New York.
He was accused of making the three videos of the child in June of 2019, federal prosecutors said.
Phillips was already registered as a level-2 sexually violent offender, after he was convicted in November of 2019 of first-degree sexual abuse and sexual contact with an individual less than 11 years old, according to the NYS sex offender registry.
He was accused of having sexual contact with a 10-year-old girl multiple times in October of 2019, according to the state sex offender registry. The unnamed victim was a child Phillips knew.
Phillips was sentenced to six months in prison and 10 years of probation for that offense, according to the registry.
If convicted for his most recent charges, Phillips could face a minimum of 15 years and up to 30 years in federal prison, prosecutors said. He could also face a maximum fine of $250,000, and a term of supervised release of five years to life, they said.

I don’t know if this is the case here, but I’ve heard of male sex offenders in legal relationships with an adult who is aware of this man’s tendencies, and still allows him to ‘spend alone time’ with their underage child.
So desperate is this ‘mother’ for a man’s attention.

The Golden Gate is 220 feet off the water in about five seconds you’d hit the water at 5 mph. You’d hit the water like you were hitting a brick wall.
The GW is 212 feet off the water. You’d hit the water at about the same speed.
