Matthew McConaughey has spoken out about the new Texas abortion law and the self-professed "aggressively centrist" star reveals he has a problem with the new legislation.
The Texan movie star discussed abortion in an interview with The New York Times-produced podcast, Sway, and the True Detective performer gave his opinion on a range of hot topics including mask mandates and the Democrats' fight against voting restrictions.
McConaughey, 51, skirted somewhat around the topic but offered insight into his thoughts on the new law, which he labeled "juvenile" and accused lawmakers of trying to find a "loophole" through Roe v. Wade.
"I'm not going to come out and tell you right now on this show, here's where I stand on abortion," he said in the podcast.
"But this latest move by Texas? It's a little bit of— feels like a back-to-front sort of Roe v. Wade loophole that they're trying to get into. It's a—feels a little juvenile in its implementation to me."
The Lone Star state's controversial law is one of the most restrictive abortion bans in the country.
It essentially prohibits abortions when a "fetal heartbeat" can be detected, which is usually at around six weeks of pregnancy.
The term "fetal heartbeat" has been described as misleading by medical professionals and abortion rights activists.
Private citizens can now collect $10,000 if they bring a successful lawsuit against an abortion provider.

“aggressively centrist” = “I am am the center of the universe”

Says the one who used to go to the neverland ranch and hop in bed with Michael Jackson to be served milk and cookies and hear about Peter pan.....
Matthew’s Slack commitment and answer to a legitimate question proves he is not someone we want running the State of Texas.
Matt would wear the fence out riding it.
Another phony “moderate.”
He lost me there.
I'm really not looking a politician with whom I agree 100%. How could that be possible? I don't think I agreed with Trump 100%.
But I do want a politician who is upfront. Who knows what he believes and where he stands, and is willing to communicate that. Trump was blunt. And honest.
This whole "I'm not going to tell you where I stand"? What's the point of that? That's just dirty politics, IMO. "I bet I can trick you by being mysterious and maybe fool you into voting for me even though my politics are nothing like your politics. But I'm so clever, and you're so dumb, that I can be cagey about stuff and get lots of votes."
No thanks.
Wait a minute. We all are being told by the Mass Murdering Left “No Uterus, No Opinion”. Why does anyone care what this theoretically male without a uterus thinks?
for equal protection under the law, men should just be held accountable for half the price of an abortion, since it is her choice... but men are held accountable under the law for twenty years of child support.
so are men and women different in their responsibilities or not? the anti- abortion law protects the unborn innocents. abortions can still be had, prior to a heartbeat.
if nothing, the law will promote obgyn visits and more women’s health.
“I’m not going to tell you where I stand”
It is indeed a bizarro comment. And I can’t help but think that his pro-abort friends, fans and supporters ain’t thrilled about it either. Why isn’t he loud and proud in supporting “a woman’s right to choose”? Inquiring minds want to know...
Entertainment industry nitwit and Partisan Media Shill alert.
“trying to find a “loophole” through Roe v. Wade.”
RvW IS a loophole.
MCCONAUGHEY: OK, first rule of Wall Street. Nobody -- and I don't care if you're Warren Buffet or Jimmy Buffet -- nobody knows if a stock's going up, down or f**king sideways, least of all stock brokers. But we have to pretend we know. Make sure you stay relaxed. Nobody wants to buy something from someone who sounds like they haven't gotten laid in a month. Take breaks when you feel stressed, j*** *** if you can. You like j***** ***, right?
DICAPRIO: Well... sure.
MCCONAUGHEY: Good, j***ing off is key. And I highly recommend cocaine, which will make you dial faster, which is good for me. Churn `em and burn `em, baby
Avoid the kill-hole.
"But ah didn't inhale".

From October 26th, 1999:
WHAT THE…? Was Matthew McConaughey rehearsing for a ”Dazed and Confused” sequel? The actor was arrested when police were called to his Austin, Tex., home at 3 a.m. Monday morning after neighbors complained about loud music, according to the Associated Press, and one officer arrived to find him dancing naked and playing the bongos while a friend did his own little jig and clapped.
After the policeman smelled a faint pot odor and saw what he thought was a bowl of marijuana seeds, he arrested the naked star, who initially shouted at the cop and resisted getting in the police car but came along after another cop arrived, because even a naked, bongo-playing dude knows when the odds are stacked against him.
Drug charges were dropped later Monday when authorities couldn’t find enough evidence, but the actor is still being charged with the misdemeanor of resisting transportation and was released from jail on a $1,000 bond. His lawyer claims that the police illegally searched his home and used excessive force.
Just think…..
Back when Matthew was in school and he took one of those aptitude tests, it probably came up that he was best suited to be a dancing, naked bongo player.
That or a plastic plant.
Matthew McConaughey likes to have children killed then the parts sold to twisted people like at Pfizer.
“This latest move by Texas,” the True Detective star said, feels like “sort of a Roe v. Wade loophole.”
He hates a loophole that saves lives.
thx
Civilization can not survive the current approach of men having responsibilities without the corresponding rights and women having entitlements without the corresponding obligations.
