As with other sectors of the economy like restaurants, contraction and shutdown in shipping and trucking are easier than expansion and restart. When such firms downside or go out of business, their workforces tend to drift into other lines of work or retire, while ships and trucks get junked. Rebuilding such lost capacity takes time.

How about the port of New Orleans? There’s other ports.

New Orleans was probably part of the Ports America sale to the ChiComs.

Notice that no one is doing anything to fix it? There is no “whole government approach” to address the issues?

It’s not worth my effort.

Everybody knows that isolationists like you crawl out from your rock to spread your continuous lies

And to add to that, one cannot ignore Taiwan.

They literally HATE Taiwan being free and are desperate to ‘liberate’ them from the clutches of Capitalism. But, of course, they prefer to do it peacefully. So what better way to send a ‘keep out’ message to the US and other countries, than to brandish their main non-military weapon, which is manufactured goods.

So that may well be what’s going on here. I doubt Taiwan makes it past the end of the year, the way things are now moving.

No reason for it. They want to create another crisis.

Newly elected President Trump called all of his business frinds in and asked what can he do to make business in America better.

They told him.

President Trump e'o'd the regulations out that hindered commerce.

The U.S.A. ran smoothely and prosperous.

joe bidet came in and erased all those regulation hinderances.

America blew a fuse and the whole damned thing shut down.

nazi and schmuk .... mission accomplished plus.

If they were to tell the truth, that the reason the ships aren’t unloaded is because the containers are empty, it would set off a mass panic.

C'mon man...

bert, have you had a chance to look at any of the links I posted?

Isolationism is starting to look pretty damn good to me, too.

America hasn’t blown a fuse.

Our republic was overthrown.

...you’re welcome to believe what you’re spoon-fed. My reasons make far more sense than everything collapsing at once, with literally NOTHING triggering it.

Like a water hammer, logistics are meant to be smooth flows but governments are cycling parts of the supply off and on causing this water hammer on logistics pipelines that aren’t that elastic.

Then governments compounded this with covid mandates.

Because the left wants us to have one so that they can come along later with the solution and be our saviors and give up our rights and freedoms in exchange for alleged safety and security.

Which is never going to happen.

They will always be stringing us along to maintain their grip on power and control.

Happy, prosperous people are hard to control.

The Chi-coms haven’t thought this out very well. The USA is China’s largest trading partner (by far). China can’t feed their own people. As an example, about a year ago they had a massive swine flu epidemic run through their hog population. They had to cull 60 million head. China needs the USA to survive. Six months without US food imports of rice, soy beans and animal protein will result in massive famine (again). The last thing the Chi-coms need is 40 million peasants flooding into their cities looking for food. If China is serious about wanting a war with the USA I hope they like eating bark. Maybe they could get a few pointers from the little pot-bellied Gargoyle in North Korea?
